It really does not make sense that a 2 year old phone can’t easily be sold on the open market but with the newest basic phones having all the features that they do and almost matching performance of the year old phone I highly believe that that prices will are going to crater on the two year phone. Just my thoughts and I do know I fully intend to keep my 16 Pro at least another 3-4 years

Been trying to sell my mint condition, unlocked, iPhone 15 Pro 512GB 90% battery on FB Marketplace and CL in a big city and am getting almost no responses. At this point, I would be ok with selling for $650. Note, two years ago I sold a 13 Pro 256GB for $675. Trying to better understand the market. Usually I would get a ton of low ball offers, this time hardly getting any at all.

Is it b/c it's a 512GB and most people don't need that much storage?
Is it the economy?
For future reference, try Swappa and eBay.

I do not want to pay the fees and shipping that will eat into the sales.

Good news everyone, after a 36 day saga, I actually sold the phone for $660. It was the best bid I got by 10%. Meaning, I got like 5 $600 bids but nothing higher, I knew to stand firm and I did. Ironically, it was sold on Craigslist. I got maybe 3 replies from CL and 30 from FB Marketplace (mainly super lowball offers).

I am ok with the price I got, initially I was thinking ~$750 would be warranted but the market quickly told me otherwise. Long story short, if your phone is in great condition like mine was, there will be a demand, stand firm on your price and hold out, the sale will come eventually.

Given I did not sell on Swappa or eBay, I pocketed the entire $660. Food for thought, you do the dishes.

have a 14 [rpro completely mint, new battery 99 percentage, not a scratch. I can't get 400 for it on swappa, people are offering me 280 to 320 tops.

Apple will give me 320 trade in, if I'm gonna get owned, might as well let apple do it.

That’s not bad. I sold my 16 Pro 512GB for $859.99 on eBay Buy It Now and paid the fees, but no saga.

My thought is more about the mental cost of enduring a 36 day saga, but glad your transaction was a success.
I sold my 15 Pro to Music Magpie in April for £575. Could have maybe got up to £50 more selling privately but the convenience of just sending the phone off and getting paid easily was well worth the slightly lower price.
