Hey guys, Alex here.
I recently installed a Gigabit PCI card into my PowerMac server, to try and get some faster LAN file transfers. After I installed it, I connected to my Server via Mac Mini, and downloaded a folder full of Music. The peak download rate was only 2.2MB (according to iStat menus on my Mac Mini)
My Mac Mini is connected via a Wireless-N connection, and my Server is plugged directly into my AirPort Extreme via CAT5e wire from it's Gigabit port.
I think my local download speeds should be a lot faster. What's the deal?
Thanks for any input!
-Alex
EDIT 1: I am running Net Monitor on my PowerMac server, and I am peaking at 1.9MB/s on transmit rate. So frustrating
EDIT 2: Just downloaded a file with the server connected to my router via my server's Fast Ethernet port, peak transmit rate was 2.6MB/s. What the hell man.....
EDIT 3: Found my own solution. Close thread.
