Why am I suddenly getting this popup? Running Mojave with latest updates. This is NOT the only popup I'm suddenly getting. A couple of times a day I'll be on my browser and suddenly I get a MAIL popup screen that takes up half the screen on the left side. If the latter is caused my some keystroke I'm doing, I'm not aware of it.

I AM NOT running the latest beta macOS. Are both of these popups a preview of the upcoming Catalina? IF so, I don't want Catalina when it debuts later this year. The only other Apple product I have is the IPXS and an iPad Pro 10.5".

It means the modification to that file are not in sync. It happens when you edit a file on a device that's not online, then you edit it on another device that's not online, and then bring them online. There will be two copies with different changes that can't be automatically merged. Or it happens if there are some issues on the server. Distributed systems are never easy to get right.

That windows has been in macOS since iCloud introduction.

I must have changed something to do with sync recently as I've been an Apple MBA, iPad and IP user for several years and have never seen this message. It only seems to popup on my MBA.

I get this quite often and have since sierra, especially (mostly) on Keynote files that I work on when editing the files on multiple devices - ie - iPad - iPhone and MBP

I am amazed at how well iCloud deals with edits and changes on multiple devices especially when some changes may be done on the MBP or iPad when not connected to iCloud and there may be several versions that are not in sequence.

When I get this message it is a good warning (heads up) and usually means that I will have to choose to sacrifice one version over the other and I am careful to pick the one with the more important changes. For example working on a file for hours on a plane and loosing that work by picking a newer version that did not have that work and those modifications included
