A lot of the macs in the Regent street store, most powerbooks/imacs, have only 512mb ram and they really should have at least 1gb. Everything runs pretty damn slow, a lot slower than my imac at home with 1gb.
I am glad to see in the Regent street store the Dual 2.5ghz with the dual 30" display now has 4gb of ram, instead of the 512 ram that it had on the opening, and it is stupidly fast...i had final cut express/imovie/idvd/itunes/motion/virtual pc and every other app open and it just played everything...with still 1.5gb's left! Omg i spent a good hour in front of the 9 grands worth of equipment with my jaw hitting the ground, hopefully when i am older i will be able to buy a computer like that because it is terrific.

Every store I've been to they have been snappy. And I'd rather see them PUT 1GB of ram in if they DISPLAY 1gb of ram. Otherwise it's bait and switch, which is illegal. Like letting you test drive a car with a V8, boasting about the power, then selling you a 4... WITHOUT telling you. Illegal.

They do display the demo system specs, (at the apple stores) if you look closely at the little paper next to the system it explains the stock machine with prices and if the demo machine you are looking at is the same... Incase the paper is missing, (or your at CompUSA or Frys; they usually don't post much) anyone with half a brain would ask one of the personel "what are the system specs on here" and he/she would point you to the "About this mac" screen.
