Has anyone else noticed this? It's the first thing they mention when you buy -- I would've thought they would promote their own cases. Odd.

I'm not sure what your question is here.

Are you asking about getting case for new iPhone 7? If so there are many cases you can get online.

Or are you asking that Apple is trying to sale you their own case for iPhone 7?

More than likely it's Tech 21 who is giving kickbacks to the Reps just at the store you visited Tech 21 has been caught red handed before giving kick backs under the table to store reps. Very likely it's just your store not all Apple stores and not highly approved of. Tech 21 just wants market share.

Makes sense. I saw every one of the reps pushing the Tech 21 cases on people. Really shady.

Interesting and kind of sad. While Tech21 might be ugly, their bumpers have saved my 5, 6 and 6s from drops many times. If I upgrade to a 7+ down the road, I'll most likely get another one and I don't need a rep's help for that.

Got the Tech21 Check in white.clear for my silver 7plus from BB today. I too used the Mesh one for Apple for my 6 and it is great. The new one protects for 9.9 ft drop.

Any more info on them getting caught before?

The tech 21 cases are the only cases I will buy for my teens phones. I got one for my daughter when she got her first phone in 2013, and she dropped her phone more times than I can count, never broke. I was able to pass the same phone on to my son. The tech 21 is special because it uses a dilatant plastic material that absorbs stresses in a unique way.

When I bought my 6s Plus last year, the Apple rep encouraged me to go for the Tech 21 Evo Mesh Sport case. I actually loved the soft rubber feeling that it had, but couldn't stand the discoloration that happened over the next few months. Brand new, the clear/white case looked great, but it ended up a nasty yellow/gray. So I'm glad I was convinced to buy it because it offered really good protection, but I won't buy another Tech 21 case until they figure out a way to deal with the discoloration.

I cracked my screen with tech 21 evo. the case is a bit too lose imo. the case get separated upon impact in my past experience

All I can say is the latest EVO Check in white fits very good on my 7plus. In fact the best way to take it off ia at the bottom corners. The top corners are much more tight than before. Got one for me and one for the wife.

I bought the same case for my Jet Black 7+ it looks nice and you can mostly see all of the Jet Black too plus it has a nice grip on the sides, so it makes it easy to hold.

I have used the Tech21 Evo Wallet on my 6, 6S Plus and now I have one waiting for the arrival of my 7 Plus this week.

I love the Wallet's all round protection so I don't have to baby my phone at work.

It will go in a Spigen Liquid Crystal at weekends.

Not too keen on the changed design on the Evo Wallet this time around. It doesn't fold into a stand which was quite useful at times. And the cover is removable too with a spare section to fill the gap left at the back. Won't be needing to do that.

One more thing I'm not liking about this gen of Wallet is that the bottom holes for speaker and lightning port are much bigger and show a small amount of the bottom back of the phone. Don't see the logic there.

Will use it and see how it goes, but may be on the lookout for a similar product that does the job better.

Um, yeah.....definitely not real leather.

I used to work at an Apple store and we always got the question, "So what's the best case you have in this store?" For a lot of us, we always recommended the tech 21s because honestly the selection was never great and out of all the cases it did seem the most protective from my own personal experience and dropping phones. However, style wise I would always recommend the Apple cases with a caveat that they were a bit thinner and less bulky then most tech 21 cases and theoretically be less protective.

We never got really anything special for selling certain products, but a lot of times they would give us discounts to try it out and in return we actually have something to talk about it when people talk to us. So more than likely there was a huge discount and the employees have first hand experience with the product. In the end, I still bought my cases online because I never liked the cases unless they were the Apple ones.

When I returned my Apple Leather case I heard an Apple rep recommending Tech 21 cases to a woman buying an iPhone 7, he didn't even suggest Apple cases... I didn't think much of it at the time though...

You're 10000000000% wrong on this

More then likely they're tired of folks going in to clog up their Genius Bar with cracked screens.

No case out there protects the iPhone better.

Apple has a marketing deal with Tech 21, it's quite obvious. What cases were in the Apple Store online and app at the time you could preorder? Apple Silicone, Apple Leather and various Tech 21 cases. It's nothing nefarious. It's not a conspiracy. And it isn't "shady." It's business, which many lay-people seem to not understand.

I found mine to be too loose on my 6 as well. I would find a corner off the phone after pulling it out of my pocket a lot. The buttons were too hard to press too. I did like the case but didn't repeat buy for my 7. Got a $9.99 ringke fusion and it fits 10 times better and has a lot easier buttons to press.

What's interesting is is that the representative at the Apple Store offered me a FREE case for my wait being a bit longer than usual and they pushed tech 21. I asked for an Apple leather case and they said "definitely".

My clear/white Evo Check case for my 6S+ took a year to start to turn a yellowish patina on the sides, but sooner for my kids phones that hold them all day and take them in and out of their jeans. I went to Tech 21's website and filled out a warranty claim, sent them photos and a copy of my receipt and they sent me out new ones the next day. They have very good customer service and will not hesitate to replace it for you. So, I will be sticking with Tech 21.
