This has been the case for a while, but the Find My maps are looking especially dated now. I live someplace that was built almost 6 years ago and the app still shows it as a dirt lot. Mind you, I live in a large U.S. metro, which would presumably have up-to-date aerial/satellite imagery. What's up with this?

What do the maps look like if you use the normal stock maps app?
Good question. They are totally up to date, at every zoom level too. Hence why I ask specifically about Find My's map. Can't figure this out! You'd think they'd just draw from their stock map-set.

Use the feedback app (or website) to let Apple know that they have discontinuity between Apple Maps and the maps in Find My.
I feel like someone / some team at Apple surely knows about this discontinuity. This shouldn't be news to anyone there. I'm just wondering if it's something I have to do on my end to update the maps or something 🤷‍♂️

Update: when you enable the 'hybrid' map in Find My (satellite + map labels), what's even stranger is that the labels are fully up-to-date, showing places that on the map are just dirt lots or fields of grass. Why is the satellite/aerial imagery so old?

Because obviously, they've made the conscious choice to have basic maps in the find my app (I really couldn't care two s***s to have something "prettier"). It's been very utilitarian thus far. They could have the expansion to the new maps as part of a big, splashy upgrade to Find My.

...or they could have something completely different in mind.
