I am. Was devastated when he left, judas. Just when the window was closing and we thought he was gonna stay, off he popped. Nice to see him rotting on the bench at the moment.

Did great for us, just a little bitter really. Not as bitter as I am with Paul 'I'll always be a Carlisle man until Preston come and offer me more money' Simpson tho. But oh well.

I really hope that he gets a better chance at city now. We have changed to a 4-5-1 and our big centre forward knackered his knee yesterday but I really dont see Bridges playing as a traget man with no support. I see him more as a linking player between midfield and the striker but we dont play that system so why did we buy him?

It screamed panic buy to me. We got him for nothing, so ace business to get 350,000 grand out of the deal. He wanted Championship football and was expecting more offers throughout the transfer window I think, which he didn't get so he snapped the hand off the first deal that came through and with no disrespect, personally I think he made the wrong choice in joining Hull.

As for why Hull wanted to sign him, he had done well for us, playing as part of a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 and dropping back and sometimes even playing as a winger. He was scoring though. Him and Karl Hawley worked really well together, and honestly, I think it made him look a damn sight better than he is. I still think it was a panic buy from your manager with that torrid start to the season but I guess we'll see.

We aint scored as many goals since he left, and we have kind of half been struggling for goals a little, especially with our other star striker Mr. Hawley breaking a rib and getting a pure Lemon of a loan signing (Jermaine Beckford from Leeds... He is ducking *****.) but we have Hawley back, so we'll see how the season goes. Still not won away from home tho, but stilling 8th in the table. Which isnt a bad effort after coming through from the Conference then League Two in two seasons.

Us – panic buy?! Nah... Anyway, Bridges might get a chance to impress now The Beast is out of action. :(

Anyway, back on topic...

did anyone see Wayne Rooney mouthing off at the ref in the Blackburn vs. Man U game yesterday? I know he got booked but it is not right that he gets away with it. If you go to a Sunday league game and watch the U12's the language towards the ref if terrible.
It's certainly not acceptable behaviour. Granted, it's a man's game, passions running high and all that, but foul and abusive language directed at the officials should lead to a booking. I mean, we're in the ridiculous situation of players being booked for celebrating scoring a goal but at the same time effing and blinding at the referee often goes unpunished? Daft.

OK fellas, nice stuff here. But you have to remember, people who pay money to go sit in the drizzle for hours in a screaming mob are a bit daft to begin with...[hides face with coat and flees, followed by screaming pop-bottle waving football fanatics.]:p

lol, that only happens when I used to go away, the stand I sit in has a roof. Oh yeah.

None of your namby-pamby drizzle, we have proper rain here. And, believe it or not, like Markleshark I also enjoy the luxury of having a roof over my head. ;)

lol, quite the luxury as well. However, at Brunton Park, largely only the away fans get wet, courtesy of these roofs of which we speak.
Same at Edgeley Park. Only the Railway End is uncovered, and let's just say we don't put the home fans there :)

Thinkin about that, we now have the home and away fans in the same stand, or at least we have for the last few games, all in the Cumberland Building Society Stand now, just a quick FYI... The Brunt!

Man, I must be getting old. I remember when Peter Beardsley used to play for your lot.. That must about '79-'81 era?

Good to see that Carlisle is still going.

What's the deal with these deadly coins? How does someone throw a coin hard enough to knock a ref out or put someone's eye out? I could understand some pain for the victim if the coin was tossed off the upper levels, but...

It's a small bit of metal and if you throw it with enough force down from the stands I guess it gets a bit of momentum behind it. And as we've seen, they can cause a nasty cut if the edge gets you. I wouldn't fancy getting one around the back of the head, that's for sure.

That picture just reminds me of "5-0" and "We're goin down, we're goin down, you're not, you're not..." :(

You do still get idiots though - look at those Cleveland fans who threw bottles a few years back, the Philly fans with their snowballs and that old courtroom in the basement of the old Linc

Somewhat off topic, but I feel a need to make a defense. First, the courtroom was in the basement of the Vet. And it was only there for two years (1997-99). I blame the 49ers (the courtroom was established after a MNF game that ended badly). Also, the snowballs are common throughout the northern clubs in the league - the Giants have more of a history with snowballs among the masses than the Eagles. Batteries on the other hand.... And thank you for not mentioning Santa Claus
