I had the ibook G4 last model before they went to the intel, and I just sold it. I replaced it with the black macbook. The setup I have is the harmon/kardon side sticks II. The sound quality is horrible on the macbook compared to the ibook. So far, sound is my only complain on the macbook

Best sound quality of a laptop I have heard goes to the Wallstreet G3 in my opinion. The IBM T23 also left a nice impression on me, the T23 has great speakers and they can get really loud! The G3s speakers are very crisp and clear, and I enjoy them very much.
Yeah, did you like the Pismo G3 speakers too? I can get loud and not too distorty sound pumping out of them
