Macs are great for graphic design if you can afford Adobe Illustrator.

If you can't afford Adobe Illustrator, then be prepared to run Windows.

The selection of mid-range, mid-price "semi-pro" graphic design applications is much better for Windows than for the Mac.

I would dearly love someone to prove me wrong.

Man I wish I had the new 17" MacBook Pro. I love my PowerBook but I would love to be able to run Flight Simulator on my laptop. Ahh well, next time... (meaning 5 years from now when I need to buy a new laptop).

It's gonna be five years before I see a worthy improvement in specs and what Apple puts in their pro models before I get a new laptop. The SR update was necessary, but cute and paltry. I am looking for better speed bumps and much better graphics capabilities. And maybe a few added features that you just can't find in any other laptop.
