Are you in a different environment than your home for Christmas? Your CPU is toasty.

Nope, sitting at home. Computer is sitting on a wooden table. Computer is plugged in - not running on battery.

I do have speakers plugged in. I'm unplugging them to see if that helps. There's no other peripherals plugged in. The bluetooth (mouse) and wireless are active.
 
Just quit firefox and have only Safari open. I'm going to keep this open for 10-15 minutes and see if that does anything
 
Open up the MBP and get some thermal paste.. And repaste the cpu.. Then ur temps will go down.. People say macs dont have problems... They have the same hardware..

Create a new user and see what happens in there. If the fans are still high (default RPM is 2000 or less depending on model) then it's the system. If not, then it's something in your user account that's creating the problem.
