Thanks for all the comments but this issue has been happening on only some of my apps, not all of them. In other words, this makes me think that each app has settings that control the color of those buttons. i.e. It doesn't appear as a generic problem across all windows. So I suspect that somehow the color settings for the buttons for each of the apps is controlled separately by each app. But I also doubt that because I see only two different colors of the center button. i.e., Most apps have the correct color, whereas some apps have the same incorrect color.
Do any of you know where the colors for these buttons are set. I would imagine it's in a location controlled by the system. And that for my assumptions above to be true, there might be a method in each app to allow each app change the color of this buttons. This last assumption is bolstered by several apps being able to turn off the functionality and turn the color grey or white on the middle button and/or the left hand button.
