I want to install an app that allows backgrounding. Background worked well on my iPhone 3G so I hope it works as well on iPad.

Why are there two Backgrounder app in Cydia?

One is Backgrounder previous to iOS 3 and the other supports iOS 3 and 4.

There is only one. But you may have it listed twice. Install the one for 3.0+ with the Finder icon in the BigBoss repo.

Is it stable on iPad? Do I need it if I want to use Multiflow?

Yes, Backgrounder works fine on the iPad. Multifl0w requires Backgrounder to be installed.
