If I hear from my family or friends that "it's just a phone" one more time, I'll blow a gasket.

These things haven't been "just a phone" in nearly 10 years. This is my phone, yes, but it's also my ENTIRE internet, the only games I play anymore, the way I know where my family members are (find my friends), the way I keep up with the weather and sports scores.

So yeah I'm freaking excited for a "phone", if you want to call it that.

I hear you, but I think their point is, it's just a DEVICE. A thing, a physical object. It's not life and death or a family member or something. In the grand scheme of things, if you get it Friday, next week or next month it really doesn't matter.

Why are we excited? Well, because big is cool! And so is Apple! Really though it's because technology is a huge part of our culture and any new phone release or product release from these giant companies is going to generate a lot of hype. I see what you're saying, but the excitement will be there regardless.

I hear you as well. As a father to two kids and a husband to one wife, a busy 9-5 office job, a new iPhone is at the bottom of my "things that require attention", but if you knew where I was coming from *cough* Lumia 520 *cough*, you might understand my excitement.

Oh, I'm excited, don't get me wrong...and I'm coming from a 5. I guess it's getting older (husband and dad myself), but the thought of camping out at an Apple store or tracking a plane from China just seems like a massive waste of time. Not as young as I used to be. :)

its so shiny! i love technology as do most people here. It is always exciting to get something new to play with and look at.

Here's to being old with the youngest technology

Am I alone in thinking I've reverted to being a 6-year old at Christmas?

That's actually the best reason to pre-order an iPhone... it is like waiting for Christmas when you are a little kid. There are so few opportunities in adult-life to imitate that joy! :D

Because most of us are pretty nerdy and intelligent and we have all that excess mental processing power just looping around infinitely in OCD mode up there with nothing to synthesize but since we're excited about it we can't stop focusing on it which causes undue stress.

Its like spinning the wheels of a turbo charged car at the light before it turns green you rev your engine and the whole car shakes because of all that horsepower.

It'll be like moving from a 20 year old scooter to a super yacht!

I've been waiting a whole year for the iPhone 6, my sister got the iPhone 5s but I wanted a better one. She ended up dropping hers down the toilet at her new flat lol. It's hardly relevant anymore, I'm pretty sure she disowned her family by the way she's treating us at the moment.

My last phone was a 4s, it served me well. I'm also excited to have an amazing camera & a phone to call my fiancé on & I want to see how sexy 1080p is on an Apple device. :)
