So? Why "don't have wifi" should be punished? And, there are cases when you need to update your game because developer does not allow you to use old version of game. Some other apps will do the same.

It Depends on what internet speeds you want or require that could be more costly. There are various tiers to choose from, but it's all based on your Internet Service Provider.

I have fiber connection 100/100Mbit with no download limit and for that i pay 39$
But I live in a (not sure if the translation is correct) tenant-owned apartment and they pay that bill so in practice its free 😀

Do to the vast size of the U.S., there are many places that are just to rural to get quality internet. And what they can get is very expensive. Cell service is their best bet.

I´m starting to understand that. In Sweden we have totally different infrastructure.
Exactly 20 years ago I got my first internet connection and it was ADSL

I lived in Europe a couple of times and you realize just how 'close' everything really is. The infrastructure for sewer, roads, electric, etc... has been laid for generations. For the most part, Europe is densely packed and everyone has equal access to home internet and cellular service.
There are still US States that may have 1 to 2 people in a 100 square kilometre area. States like North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Idaho, Nebraska, and so forth. The cost to bring internet to these sparsely populated areas just isn't worth it for most telecoms.
So there are a couple million people in the US alone, that are basically screwed by Apples policy. Doesn't seem fair when all Apple has to do is add a feature in settings that allows people to download large apps. It could be off by default and request users consent every time. This would prevent Apple from responsibility.

Every time I look at my stock phone, I wanna puke. Every time I try and download something from the app store and it tells me it's over 100MB can't get it without wifi, I wanna puke. Why is Apple so far behind with the limitations of the features people want/need?

I never said I had internet issues. I get nearly 500mbps download speeds on my wifi internet at home, with cable TV for $80 or roughly €65 per month.
I'm simply saying there are a lot of people in the US that live in such rural areas that wifi capability is either non-existent or cost prohibitive.
As for you theory on using a cell connection with a wifi router, that also doesn't work, as tethering connections is limited with all mobile networks. Again, cost prohibitive issue as well.

I also didn't say 'everyone' in Europe has equal access to wifi and cellular. I said 'nearly' everyone. And this is comparative to the US.

P.S. The US also utilized ADSL in telephone lines 20 years ago in States like California. Before fiber optic lines started to be utilized. But Sweden is tiny compared to the entire US, so ADSL wasn't added everywhere in our country.

That´s pretty easy if 2-3 people use Netflix,Viaplay,HBO,YouTube.
And then downloading torrent that are blue-ray movies 4-15GB in size.

Actually, WiFi is the main issue for this entire thread. The whole point is that Apple prevents us from downloading apps and app updates that are over 100mb in size. If you don't have WiFi, you can't do anything. Understand?

And i´m telling you to setup your own wi-fi network with mobile connection is the solution if you don't have any other internet connection at home.
Here in Sweden it´s possible to get two sim-card on one mobile connection.

I don't see a real issue with downloading an App at McDonalds or Starbucks. It isn't like you're doing banking at that site. As someone asked how do you do IOS updates without WiFI - or do via iTunes and sync.

I caught them face timing (her and her girl friend) and they weren't even using the camera they were just talking 8 12 hours of that (on the weekend). Then like just recently I downloaded google source code it was like 50GB. It happens plus xbox and playstation games that you buy online they are GBs. Another time is when Apple releases updates we all have 3 Macs, 3 iPhones, 3 iPads, 3 Apple tvs I manage don't do it not on purpose. Also if you stream movies its easy to get there at 100mbs. I don't even download illegal stuff like movies. My data is every 30 days so I have it in my calendar so i can watch and decide if I should download something because its going to use a large amount of my data. I know it sounds crazy but I can do it by the 25 (out of 30) day. Don't forget windows updates too.

Shouldn't the majority of this be done over wifi? If you treat your cellular data like optic fiber network, then yeah, no amount will be enough for you. Which I doubt is how the networks expect you to use your mobile data.

here they are encouraging people to get fast mobile connections..

and im actually considering to end up my cable connection when the current contract ends because using the mobile connection is fast and reliable today, and it is also cheaper. im thinking to buy an usb modem and put it to the router at home. and if i need it when travelling, i can simple connect it to the laptop or so if i cant share the mobile from my phone (/tablet).

currently im using my ipad (hotspot) if i need to download something from appstore to my phone and im not at home.
