I went back and forth on upgrading from X to Max, and finally decided against it. I can't see the sense in dropping an extra $600. Decided to upgrade my Series 2 watch instead.

used to upgrade my iPhone every single year, starting from 2012.

I stick with my iPhone X.
There is no single reason to upgrade this year. This years iPhone is, imho, nearly the same iPhone as last year.
No single feauture this year that an upgrade is worth (imho)

Because price benefit it's not worth it this year. I like Xs Max, but 1100 for some minor changes i prefer to wait another year.

Same ****. Why start over when my $1k X is paid for? Satisfied with the X.

I was gonna switch to Sprint carrier and trade in my girl's iPhone 7 for the Xs but I want to see it in the stores first. Camera has to have a solid improvement for me to consider it. If I do, they have a deal for $0 a month for 18 MTH lease and all I'll pay is $250 to buy it. Hell of a deal but waiting to see it in stores this wkend

I justified it just fine. Got the Max but if it was just the Xs that came out, still would have bought it.

Yeah pretty much same here. I have the X and it’s fully paid for and works great. I don’t want a bigger phone than this and I just don’t see enough to sway me to buy this year.

Cost, really. Things have gotten way more expensive and I don't see the additional cost being translated into additional utility.

Had I not got an X last year I'd be very tempted by the max this year. My fault for caving. I'll probably have the X another two years. Amazingly my battery is still 98%.

Mostly because I’m so satisfied with my X, it’s easily my favourite phone I’ve ever had and the size is perfect. The new photos on the XS look amazing in marketing images but that alone isn’t enough to spend another ~$1400 after taxes and Apple Care. I still look at my phone sometimes and marvel at it, it’s so cool! I love the design and it’s such a joy to use and for me it’s the perfect size.

Odds are against it .. comparing my iPhone 7 Plus to the new phones, it's hard to see a major jump up in specs, etc. The 7 Plus is truly excellent in many ways. I'm reluctant to spend $800 for just a marginal improvement. I'll look at the XR, but I'm doubting that it'll really grab me. I'm content to wait awhile. We'll see.

Not going to say that I won’t upgrade, but I’m not doing it now. I currently have the X. It’s fast and has a great screen. I don’t need an amazing camera for the times that I can actually get my young adult children to sit for a photo and I don’t play games on mine. Guess I’m not really a power user. I may see what people’s experiences are like over the year and see if it’s anything that might make me switch.

I’m saving my money for the the AW4 and a new iPad (if they would ever freaking release a new one....Arrrgggggg!)

When they give me X Mini, I'll upgrade.
I'm fine with my SE, don't want bigger.

I'm sticking with my 6s. I don't want to pay $1000 to lose features that I use and to get a bigger phone. I use my headphone jack every day (and sometimes charge the phone at the same time). I also much prefer using a fingerprint reader compared to facial recognition.

I'm just going to replace the battery after all this current iphone rush is done with. Maybe next year there will be a mini phone and then I'll upgrade.

Mostly cost and the fact I have an 8+. I don’t see it being a big enough upgrade from what I have. I’m going to upgrade my Series 1 instead, I see more value in doing that.
