I don't want a larger screen that is only stretched if that is what is really is. I don't want a different dock connector if it really has one as I own a lot do accessories and radios that use the current dock connector...... already went through this once when they charged power requirements of the dock

I continue to find it both amazing and idiotic how many people are so certain that they will or won't upgrade - when we don't even know anything (official) about the phone.

Is it really that difficult to wait 2 more days before making any decision?
No need to wait.

I'm 100% sure that Apple will not offer an iPhone with the features that are of utmost importance to me. Based on conversations with the many friends I have in AppleLand, it turns out they too, want the same things.

Collectively we've all decided to pass on the phone being announced tomorrow.

It's as simple as that :)

I'm not upgrading simply because I am on contract with my 4S until fall 2013. I have no interest in going through the process of selling this phone and then paying any extra money for another iPhone when my 4S is still physically flawless, fast as hell and does everything I need it to do.

This has nothing to do with the leaks or how the phone is rumored to be. If I was eligible to upgrade I would. Im just not upgrading until I can pay contract price. At that point I'll sell my 4S and pay practically nothing for the next iPhone (5S??) I'm happy that I don't have the desire to have the latest phone. Couldn't imagine having a new one every year. My 4S is just breaking in!

I love everything about my 4 except the tiny screen. I'm not buying another iPhone unless it has a screen that's larger in BOTH dimensions.
If Apple surprises us with a truly larger screen, I'm in!
Even if my 4 died, I'd probably get a used 4s rather than the rumored 5 so I can keep using my cases and cables while I wait for iPhone 6.
I keep looking at Android phones, and some of the hardware looks great, but I want my iOS!

Maybe someone will come out with a screen magnifying case and I can have a 5" iPhone 4 ;-)

I want to use the final year of my 4S to tinker with jailbreaking, and if new phone has new chip (a6) it will take months to jailbreak

Well not only are you in for a disappointment tomorrow but your also going to be in for a long ass 2 year wait. iPhone 5s I'm sure will be next. Once we all see what they are really going to show off tomorrow i'm sure a lot of you will change your minds. I doubt we know even 1/4 of whats going be announced.

If its basically a .5inch longer 4S with LTE I'll pass. I already have a 4.7in thing LTE phone with 2gigs of ram.

I think a lot of people will eventually change theirs minds if they are eligible for an upgrade. The only reason I upgrade is because I'm eligible. If I'm not, then I just carry on until the next phone, it's not worth the upgrade fee.

I was just thinking the same thing. Do people feel they will be criticized for not upgrading and have to explain their thoughts?

No one cares.
Really. Everyone knows personal worth is measured by the size of your TV, not phone. Duh.
How't thou contradict thyself?
No, different points. He'll wait for a jailbreak before upgrading software, but doesn't need the hardware upgrade, because the features he wants will be in the software.

There you go again.

geez

Great post!
First, who knows what the actual feature set will be? That will really determine whether I eventually upgrade or not.
I bought a 4 on launch day at an Apple store.
Really liked the phone!
I had intended to skip the 4s and upgrade to the 5 on or about the launch date, but my 4 bit the dust in April (internal fault that could not be fixed) and I didn't want to be saddled with a dumb phone for 5 months, so I upgraded to the 4s.
I was VERY pleasantly surprised by how much better the 4s was compared to the 4!
So, now I am NOT eligible for a reduced price 5 (or whatever they call it) for some time.
So, I will wait and see what the feature set is on the 5 and decide whether to pay full price to upgrade or wait till the next one.
Meantime, i am enjoying my relatively new 4s!:)

I find it idiotic that people visit a rumors message board and complain about people discussing rumors.

Obviously, every "I will" or "I won't" buy or opinion on here is based on rumors -- that's the whole point of this site. Don't visit or don't post (not only are you posting, but you're insulting people too) in these kinds of threads? It's such a simple concept.

No. I'll get them when and iff there is a jailbreak out. I will be on 5.0.1 until that point in time.

1. They're not going back to the 30 pin connector---ever. So unless you plan on your current iPhone being the last mobile phone you ever use, not sure how this is relevant.

2. See my response to 1.

3. See my response to 1.

And these are specific to upgrade to the next iPhone, they apply to upgrading to ANY new device. What you're basically saying is the 4s is phone perfection and you'll never need to change. Hey, whatever floats your boat.

1. I can wait until Lightning cables are cheaply knocked off my Monoprice, or I can switch back to Android and use the industry standard micro-USB. But in the mean time, for at least a couple more years, I have tons of 30-pin cables.

2. For now, I have the system for the 4S, and that will last a few more years.

3. Same.

The cases would pertain to a new device, but not the cables. I already have a zillion micro-USB cables. If Apple had switched to a cable that is pin-compatible for USB2 and charging with Micro-USB, I would have been fine with it, as those are standard, and everyone has a ton of them anyways.
