Well, I was planning to keep my 15 PM for maybe 4 or even 5 years, when I bought it last year in July.
But the overheating problem (still) in middle of 2026, makes me wanna sell it.
And then I won’t buy a new iPhone, instead I’m looking for a new Android phone, like the OnePlus 15 or similar.
Funny thing is that my second phone a Pixel 6a handles the thermal issues way better that my so called flagship iPhone 15PM!

Most people buy a new iPhone if they experience problem with their current iPhone, but not me.
For me it works the opposite.
If Apple release a crappy version of iPhones, that they did with the 15, I won’t buy a new iPhone. End of story.
I just buy something else.

I decided to stick with Iphone for now, but I have a feeling next year I might be looking for an Android phone. Hopefully in another year or so Android keeps improving and closing the gap between them and Apple.

As someone who keeps his phone for 4-5 years this is hilarious to read...
Why? Because people love a shiny new toy.
Find joy outside of consuming...

When you trade in every year you don't pay full price for what you are getting.
Lol I didn't even think about that - that would indeed lighten the financial burden. 🙂 Therefore I admit that keeping my 8 Plus for four years and my plans to stretch the Eyefoan 16e across 5 years (if possible) is . . . . an accomplishment 😂

I keep mine for a long time.

Hard to believe it's almost 5 years old. I didn't even need to replace the battery or screen for this one. (Battery life isn't what it used to be but I get by okay)

The 6 Plus was an awesome device. When it was first introduced, its main competitor was the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I spent a few days trying to decide which one I would get - and I settled on the Note 4. It was a great phone, but I imagine I would have been just as happy with the 6. Both were monsters.

I remember that! Was waiting for OLED to come to iPhone, it came pretty late but maybe the burn-in issues of early OLED had something to do with that. 6s Plus owners like me could brag about having the fastest internal SSD speeds of any smartphone though 🙂

edit: the 6s Plus was what the 6 Plus should've been...looking back I'm not a fan of the original 6 Plus. But it was fun to finally get some bigger iPhones and I remember that launch well, toward the end of when people were still lining up at Apple stores to get them.

I usually keep my iPhone for 3yrs as I had my XS Max from 2018-2021 then 13 Pro Max from 2021-2025 and now have my 17 Pro Max and will keep it for at least the 3yrs I have on my payment plan and unless something blows me away I won’t be upgrading for a while

iPhone 11 Pro user here. I'm surprised how well this old iPhone still holds up. Despite only 4GB of RAM, it does everything most people would expect from a modern smartphone. Since it's confirmed that it gets iOS 27, I will continue using it for another year.

If you don’t mind me asking, which phone would you buy if you buy a Android phone?

iPhone 3G, iPhone 4. iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s.. So I upgraded every 2 years basically.
Then the phones jumped up in price so I I went to the iPhone 11 from the 6s.
The 11 went faulty so had to upgrade and got the 15. (Which is the first model I ever owned)
I prob would have kept the 11 for another year or 2 so upgraded to the 16 or 17. But with prices increasing all day every day im prob going to have to keep the **** iphone 15 till it dies as I was wanting to upgrade to the 18 Pro. But dont know if I could financially update. So at this stage my upgrades are getting further and further apart.
