Here are five reasons:

- A vast majority of cell phone users don't follow product cycles like we do.
- Some people have actually waited this long for the white one to come out.
- Some people just have money to blow like that.
- Some people like to match their phone to their outfit.
- Some people want to always have the newest thing, even if it's just a color change.
- Some people are racist. (Even towards phones)
- Some people are just now eligible for an upgrade.

The white version really does look better than the black one in my opinion.

Reminds me of this... (drool).

So will we be able to walk into an apple store and buy the white iphone with the no commitment pricing?

I have a family plan, so I will upgrade one of my lines to white iPhone 4 and sell my black one for almost as much as it will cost ($499 according to my upgrade eligibility). My other line will be left alone and ready to upgrade to iPhone 5.

With the 5 expected to be a A5, 8 MP camera and MAYBE a screen .2 bigger, is it really that much worth waiting for?

I have never once felt my 4 was slow.

Great another dumb thread about a White iPhone. People want to buy it in the same way that some people like to buy a certain car in white and some people in yellow. It's called personal choice.

Great, another dumb post complaiing about why people post topics that they are not interested in and they still waste their time to read them and reply to them. If it's another dump thread, don't read it. If a program on TV offends you, turn the channel.

I don't know if I have ever actually seen a white Iphone in person. I imagined they would really show fingerprints and smudges worse than the black.

I've worked in one of the video renting stores in UK couple of years ago while studying. A Sony rep told us once that whenever they release white PSPs PS2s etc, majority of them are factory refurb with a new body giving it a status of the brand new item... Not sure if it is true or not, but since then i've been obstaining second wave gadgets in different color since it kinda made sense.

That wouldn't be legal unless the product is sold as refurbished. If this were true, there would've been a huge class action lawsuit by now.

i'm getting it even though i would much rather wait for the iphone 5. The reason for getting it is so i can receive the unlimited data plan for vzn since it's a possibility the unlimited plan may be gone during summer (and iphone 5 will most likely be released after). Also this way i have a chance to grandfather the unlimited plan.
Of course since the white iphone 4 is being released, i'm technically buying the latest iphone :D

Smart move. Verizon will definitely do away with unlimited data before the iPhone 5 comes out.

The question is will they grandfather you in? I've asked and they say they don't know. One way around it for sure is to buy your next phone outright with no contract. You'll get to keep your unlimited data then.
