Why can I not return iPhone on apple.com?

This is what I get when I try to process return on Apple.com (attachment) is some one else having this issue ? why is apple not letting me process return online?

For iPhone returns you have to call.

Yes I did call and they emailed me a return label, BUT I don't see a usual Return Pending (return your item by certain date) message.... is this normal ?

Im also in the same situation i bought 2 iphones the 6 and 6 Plus and wanna return the 6 went to the site and saw the same thing... I will give them a call this afternoon, i also wanna switch color of my 6 plus in white gold instead of space grey, is that even possible?

Why not just return to a Apple store? Others on here have been successful doing that
