Why can't I add songs to a playlist in Apple Music?

When I attempt to add a song to an existing playlist while navigating anywhere in apple music, there's about a 20% chance the song will be added. I check my playlist and the song isn't there. I see the little "added" check mark flash on my screen but the song doesn't get added.

It's a bug. The workaround is to click "add to my music" before adding it to a playlist.
