Can someone help, i can't find this thing in the apple store. All they have is just the cover, i want the case that covers the back of the iPad pro 10.5.

Never understand the point of cover only that protects just the screen, it's the back of the iPad that's so slippy you need a case to hold it comfortably.

But i can't seem to find it on the apple store, all i see is the cover only that protects the screen but leave everything else exposed. Or that leather folder thing, where the iPad is unusable after placed inside.

what gives?

Yeah me too. They seem to not be offering these for the 10.5". Third party cases will probably not match the color of the keyboard cover i assume. Also I couldn't find any decent ones on amazon. Weird

Issue with the Moko you linked is you have to take the whole case off if you want to use a smart keyboard. I'm looking for something that will protect the back and let me switch between the smart keyboard and the OEM smart cover. Have not been able to find one that can accommodate both. There was a listing on Amazon for a Moko back that would accommodate the smart keyboard, but it specifically stated it would not work with the smart cover (which is weird since I thought they would be similar).

If anyone finds a solution that accommodates both the smart keyboard and cover (like the previous Apple smart case), please paste a link to this post!!!

Thanks!

This is very similar to the other Moko case I saw, except it is hard plastic and not TPU. The TPU one has bumpers on the corners which may be the reason the Smart Cover won't work. This one says it accommodates the Smart Keyboard, but does not mention the Smart Cover and does not appear to have the bumpers. For $8 I ordered it and will see if it can use both the keyboard and cover. If not, it is no big loss.

I would prefer a TPU or silicone back cover, but this will hopefully do until I find something else. I really wish Apple continued making the silicone smart case back, but they were overpriced (especially when paired with the smart cover) and I have a feeling they did not sell enough to justify continuing to sell them. Too bad as I would have spent the extra $ up front to have one on day one.

I'd want something softer for my back cover too - but for the 8 bucks this will do until something better comes up.

My thoughts too. Hopefully someone will step up and fill the void Apple left when they discontinued the smart case.

There is not likely a back case because, according to the case maker Moko, apparently the 10.5 has a different cutout for the Smart Cover and keyboard.

Also, Poetic case maker just answered (Source) a purchaser, who claimed the iPad Pro 10.5 Smart Cover didn't fix the case, that they will replace their case with a fixed version.

I have both the 10.5 Smart Keyboard and the Smart Cover and I just took them out of the boxes and compared them. The attachment strip is the exact same length for both. Don't see how the cutout would be different for the two, but won't know until I get my Moko plastic back (not TPU) which is supposed to be delivered tonight. It is likely the Smart Keyboard would not fit the Poetic case either. Looks like they just messed up the cutout length. Hopefully Moko got the cutout length right.

Can you verify that the 10.5 attachment strips are longer than the ones on the 9.7 SK & SC?

Sorry I cannot. I do not have a 9.7 pro. I am upgrading from a Air 2 with full Smart Case (1 piece front and back).

The Cutout for the Moko case looks bigger than the Poetic case from the pictures. The cutout goes closer to the corner of the Moko case by a pretty noticeable amount.

I am going to ask them about their statement. I wonder if they are aware that they are the same. Perhaps they are designing the case based on the 9.7 Smart Cover and keyboard cutout? I am looking at matching the Smart Cover with one of these cases. I hope it fits one of the TPU ones.

The Moko TPU case has bumpers on the four corners. I was thinking that the bumpers may be interfering with the case closing against the iPad screen, making sleep/wake not work hence their saying the Smart Cover is not compatible with this TPU case.

Throw me in with everyone who is disappointed that the leather smart case hasn't returned.

For the iPad Air 2, the Smart Case is $80.
For the iPad Pro 10.5, the Smart Cover (with less than half of the materials of the case) is $70.

Talk about price gouging.

Apple bring back the Leather Smart Case!
that was THE BEST case for iPad, looked and felt premium and beautiful.
unlike the ugly and cheap looking (yet pricey) silicone + Smart Cover option.
I hated silicone case + Smart Cover, and don't feel they are missed at all.

I'm in the market for a non-crap case that would be similar to apple's in terms of thin-ness and build quality. What's out there for me? Haven't had to look beyond apple for this kind of stuff.
