Why can't I delete my apps on iOS6?

I am having trouble figuring out how to delete my apps on iOS6. It used to be really simple.
Can someone help me out?

it's exactly the same process as it has always been.
tap and hold on the app and then press the x to delete it.

nothing has changed

it only appears on apps that didn't come pre-installed.

I mean its not showing up for ANY of my apps. Games, chrome, etc.

Maybe you have restrictions set up to not be able to delete apps. Check that setting.

then you have something going on that isn't normal.
either restrictions are enabled, or you have a corrupt install.
