Why can't I watch 4K video content on YouTube while using Chrome?

I have an M1 MacBook Air but I can't watch any 4K content while using Chrome. Any ideas why?

Is this Netflix? If so only DRM aware Safari and MS Edge browsers can play 4K content

No, it's while watching YouTube videos while using Chrome. But I did figure out what my problem is/was. Apparently there's an extension in Chrome that needed to be turned off in order to watch 4K content on YouTube. The Chrome extension is called "h264ify" and it was turned on. I just turned it off and now everything is good. 4K content on YouTube while using Chrome.
