Are all Mac users really so insecure that they have to keep starting threads telling each how much better Macs are than PCs?
If one platform was *really* so superior to the other then we wouldn't be having this problem 'cause one platform woulda disappeared 10yrs ago.
To the average home user who spends most of their time surfing the net, e-mailing, and using Word is there a cataclysmic<sp?> difference between Mac and PC? No. Do they see a reason to spend 1.5-2x as much money on a Mac than on a PC? No. Even if they get more w/a Mac (like a superdrive, and iMovie) that doesn't mean crap if they have no intentions of using them.
Here's an analogy:
I'm sure there are some car guys on this forum that wouldn't even think about buying a 95 Buick Skylark 2-door that is Smurf blue. But my Smurf car (w/a freakin' pointed "beak" bumper) gets me where I need to go, and that's all I car about. Is the car fast? Not really. Killer sound system? No. Does it look cool? No, it's smurf blue and has a pionted front bumper that looks like a beak. Would I rather have a Corvette? Yes... but only if the 'Vette was the same price as my Buick.
My point is my car meets my needs. So I don't see the need to spend 2x as much money on a "better" car when my current car (or the cars I would normaly look at) meet my needs.
If you guys wanna have a real discussion 'bout how Macs and PCs stack up to each other, why don't you go to a PC forum and present yer opinions instead of preaching to the choir at a Mac forum?
Lethal
