Love my iPhone 11 Pro, upgraded from iPhone X.

Now that that’s out of the way,

Why in the world has the keyboard gotten so awful?

It won’t auto capitalize accurately, and just now when I tried to type “it’s” it autocorrected as “Mira”

The auto correct feature is garbage.

Swipe is pretty good though can’t complain.

I actually like swipe a lot.

Maybe Apple wants us to use swipe more lol

Apple autocorrect is garbage but I don't think that's a new feature. Try to dictate a message using Siri ;)

One basic step for the keyboard to troubleshoot was to erase the keyboard dictionary. Maybe give that a try.

I think it may also be a matter of where you’re typing, for some reason. It’s not just the Pros, it’s iOS 13, I think anyway.

For some reason the auto capitalisation on my phone while on the forums here is a bit hit and miss. Yet typing on other websites and in different apps seems to be better. Time to file (another) bug report methinks.

Is it just me or did the keyboard buttons get a little larger/spaced a little differently in iOS 13 compared to iOS 12?

I’ve had an issue with the Apple keyboard for a couple of years now. I’ve felt it’s gotten worse over time. I thought it was just me, but my partner has been having issues too. Autocorrect, accuracy, etc hasn’t been great for a while for me. So I feel this post from the OP. Lol

Predictive typing and auto-correct has always sucked on iOS - but it tends to get better over time as you type and help edit the words that you meant to type. Still frustrating for sure, but this is not an iPhone 11 Pro issue, this is an iOS issue.

I don’t fare too badly with autocorrection and predictive typing. Maybe it’s just learned from me over the years and stored it in iCloud, who knows.

But thanks to my stupid nerve damage, I mis-type an awful lot on the iPhone (or any other small screened touch device) and iOS tends to cope pretty well, with only few completely out of context, or unintelligible words popped in.

Siri dictation on the other hand, gets it right almost every single time, even the slang and extremely naughty words, which I use an awful lot. You have no idea how much one has to censor oneself on here :D

I am going to hope it is a bug in iOS 13 and will be fixed in iOS 13.1. Mine has been pretty rough as well.

I’m sorry to hear that. How did the damage happen?

I’m sorry to hear that. How did the damage happen?

Short version, I was working demolition and we were demolishing an old factory from the 1800’s. We were removing the massive steel roof framing and it decided to give up the ghost.

A chunk about the size of a cooker smashed my shoulder as it passed on its merry way to the ground, and my arm was trapped between two of the steel struts (about 80 foot across). That’s what happens when you let an engineer work demolition :p

NHS didn’t react quick enough to the compartment syndrome, so I was left with the nerve damage..... Not that I helped matters I suppose, I patched myself up and stayed on-site for an hour or so to operate the machinery while we made the building secure, I didn’t want anyone else to be at risk of injury.

Still, I was about an inch away from decapitation, so I suppose I’m lucky. Well, if you don’t count the fact that no bugger seems to want to employ an auld cripple who’s on a ridiculous amount of drugs. That’s the crappy part of it all now.

But we all have our crosses to bear I suppose and there’s people far worse than myself.

...... Ok, shortish version, I don’t half waffle on when the morphine kicks in, as anyone used to my posts will know :D

Aye, you were unfortunate today, normally I’d just say I wouldn’t want to bore you, or some such thing. But when you’re in a chatty mood.... :D

My biggest gripe with the keyboard is when I hit the shift key twice to get ALL CAPS, but then when I switch to the number/symbols pad or to Emojis and then go back to the letters, the ALL CAPS reverts back to lower case!! Filling out forms online or for random verification codes not recognized by my iPhone that require ALL CAPS plus numbers, OMG that really pisses me OFF!! Other phone brands hold the ALL CAPS until you physically undo it. Why not iPhone?! Why!!
