Great to see that Apple fixed yesterday the USB-C Mac killer problem with the 11.2.2. update

But why didn't Apple warn users when they became aware of the problem and were working on the update? Meanwhile plenty of Macs were probably killed. See here https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/m1-macbook-air-wont-power-on.2272304/

Apple*s behavior strikes me as pretty reckless. People with killed Macs must usually wait for weeks until they can use their machine again. This can be a job killer during lockdown.

Assuming this is true...
incurring damage when they are connected to certain third-party, non-compliant powered USB-C hubs and docks
...Does Apple really need to warn anybody? Sure, some products/brands are reputable, acclaimed by many users, which raises confidence, but Apple isn't liable for other company's quality.

You may have experienced the problem or otherwise upset about it, but it's common knowledge you're (presumably) taking a (higher) risk when not pairing genuine accessories to a core product.

Basically, at the minimum, affected users should be questioning the dock/hub's quality.

was this problem caused by  hubs and accessories or other brands like Anker, killington, mocha an tother 3ed party apple gear?

It's not Apple's job to educate consumers who are short-cutting purchases for NON-COMPLIANT hubs and docks than spending a bit more for a better manufacturer.

"when they are connected to certain third-party, non-compliant powered USB-C hubs and docks."

At this point Apple has protected those consumers even.

Yeah, agree with the points above. Users themselves are more frequently to blame.
Just consider what's happening on the Windows isle. There's so many develepers of everything - laptops, wireless keyboards, USB-hubs, and so on and so forth; and nobody can claim 100% compatibility with anything.
Just use genuine and quality products - that's the key.
