since updating my iPad Air to ios10 if I click a link in any app such as Tweetbot, or Apple Mail, I will only go to the Google Opening page, NOT to the link destination. I have to return to the original link and click again to get me to the destination on the web.

I have found that if I strike the iPad Air screen hard enough, the link will work, but not always. I estimate this happens w 75% of any links I click in ios10.

Is anyone else seeing this hyperlink issue in ios10?

Settings -> Safari -> Open links. See if this is set "In new tab" instead of "in background"

I set Tweetbot to open links with 1Passwords' browser, and other apps with Chrome, and the default is still Safari.
They behave as expected, what I did notice is that despite preferred settings, it now asks 'open in {that} browser?', which is I guess a security awareness thingy, but I find it obsolete and annoying.

Floris, you solved the issue w Tweetbot for me, thank you very much. It was a Tweetbot issue, not iOS10. Tweetbot was set to open the Safari Browser. I should have set it to the Tweetbot Browser. Links in TweetBot open immediately on the correct web page using the TweetBot browser.

Glad to hear that helped. Maybe worth reporting to Tweetbot though, they could look into it and if it's indeed an issue with iOS10 on their end, the next update will have it fixed hopefully for those who use the default. It 'should' load the link, not just the browser.

Floris, this is incredible. I've lost all the stress and agony of never knowing whether a link will work, or not. Is this what peace feels like? Sigh.

Is this the time where we tell you to hold down the reload button in Safari and see the magical options of
a) request desktop version (which sometimes solves broken mobile versions)
b) load without content blocker (in case you have any installed)
:p

It's not wisdom, someone on here pointed it out to me too a while ago.
It's how we learn.

Ok, kindness. :)
Hyperlinks still dont function correctly in Apple Mail. Is there a browser for Apple Mail, or am I stuck w Safari which seems incapable of linking the first try.

It is really strange, that if you click a link, it loads the browser, but doesn't go to that link .. It really shouldn't (and isn't for me) behave like that.
Especially strange, when it's multiple apps doing the same thing apparently.

This was a pre 9.3.1 bug that was fixed now, and shouldn't be in 10.0 or 10.1

Did you try deleting website data from Safari (through Preferences app)

Do you have the bookings app on your ios10 device?

Grasping at straws here, as to why it wouldn't open the links from apps to web

Incredible that it is only showing up for me on my iPad Air in ios10, and never had issues w it in ios9. Will do a few things and get back to you. Appreciate your patience.
