Why did Pages delete all icloud documents?

Hi,

I'm on ios 11 and High Sierra 10.13.1. I stored a lot of Pages ocuments on my iCloud account and when I tried to access them today the directory was missing on icloud. I found and restored the files from the trash.

WHY would Pages 6.3.1 delete the files?
