1)Ecosystem. It's great I can send messages from my iMac if my iPhone or iPad is on charge.
2)Apps. Although the competition is catching up, the App Store (in my eyes) is still unrivalled.
3)Camera. It'll never replace my DSLR but the camera on the iPhone 5s is their best to date. I've taken some amazing low-light shots recently.
4)"It just works."
5)Updates. Whereas some of the competition seem reluctant to roll out new software for models that are just a shade over 18 months old at least Apple do let select models gain some new features (even if they don't perform smoothly, which is a shame.)

I looked at what I really use my phone for, and I realised that I actually use it to make and receive calls, keeps appointments in my calendar, read emails and message friends. I don't need the massive screen and I really don't miss it.

A basic feature phone would have done this at the fraction of the cost of an iPhone...

I bought my first iPhone (iPhone 4 32gb) due to the fact that Nokia were taking too long to release the N8, i'm glad they took their time. I still got the N8 but sold it after loving everything about the iPhone...i have since never looked back.

Makes life easier.

- Reliable
- Updates and support are unmatched in the industry
- Aesthetically the best device on the market
- Can do just about everything I need a mobile device to do

Best size (IMHO) in a full feature phone, best ecosystem (especially since it's the iPad's ecosystem as well), best ease-of-use.

Wanted something other than a Nokia for a change, and I did not want an Android, so the list got pretty short.

This. Except I went to android after my Nokia n95 and hated how I was hardly able to use the phone. After some persuasion from a friend at the time I finally made the switch.

Coming from a Motorola Razr at the time, it was the new hotness on the market at the time. I picked up my 3G w/unlimited data, and have never looked back.

Because I broke my leg...

Haha no kidding, I got one because I broke my leg and I had nothing better to do but to sleep so I bought an iPhone off of eBay to fix and now I have a business in doing it. (got my first iPhone in July 2013) Now I have the 5s and I like it.

Very odd reason, but thats why I got the iPhone in the first place. :)

Had used iPod classics since 2004. By 2007, when the original iPhone was announced and really wanted to have one, altough it wasn't available in my country. Until I learned that the original iPhone was finally easy to jailbreak and unlock, I bought one in the US.

I have never been amazed by any device like I was with the original iPhone, it really was ahead of its time. Since then I have had every iteration.

I wanted a smaller phone, and most Android devices went Supersize in the past year or two. That's the primary reason I chose iPhone.

Other reasons: timely software updates (also a big deal), Lighting connector much easier to use than USB, build quality of iPhone 5, and App Store.

I don't use iTunes or any of Apple's ecosystem so that's not a factor for me.

It's the market standard. Meaning within it's market, it's the highest quality and most logical purchase of such device.

Most of the relevant advantages have already been mentioned...just wanna add:

1- Keeping things in sync across the board is very convinient.

2- I freaking love iTunes Radio!

Also have a Note 3 for when the mood strikes :D

I got fed up with my note 3 glitches. Note 2 was perfect. And I hadn't had an iPhone since the 4s. The 5s is treating me nicely. Want a bigger screen tho.

Ecosystem - I have a Macbook Pro and iPad (So does my Wife) so everything plays nice together.

iOS - Like the OS, fluid, easy to use

Build Quality - Well Made and excellent attention to detail

Camera - I have a 5s and love the camera

Cosmetics - Looks great

Size - For me the size is great, no problem with one handed operation and at the end of the day it's just as easy to read from as my work phone (Samsung Galaxy III) regardless of the difference in screen size.

Ecosystem plus android phones were getting too big for me.
That said my 5 still feels like a brick compared to my old galaxy s2, mostly as I'm a clutz and has to get a case, after dropping it and putting dents in the corner. The s2, whilst plastic survived many drops into the same floor.
