Why did you choose THAT color?

I bought black because I'm a manly man, not some wussy. White is for girlie men, guys whose sexuality is suspect. I mean, when you see a guy with a white iPad... well...you other real men, like me, know you better give them a wide berth. Those people will will probably try to urge you to buy a white pad - the first step down the road to...well, I just can't say it. (They try to recruit us manly men, you know.)

So if you are a real man, like me, you get the black one. We manly men have to watch out for what other people think, you know.

Obviously the nonsense about white being feminine comes from post iPhone Apple customers, the older ones know that Apple stuff has always been mostly silver gray or white.
 
OK, at the risk of my manhood I went white. Why? After black iPhones, iPads, and iPods, wanted something different. No big deal.

A lot of people buy white because it looks different. For me all of my various tablets are black. Apple is known for shiny white electronic toys and so was compelled to go white with my recent iPad 2 refurb.

I'll probably go white again with the iPad 4.

But it's only pink outside. Under fluorescent it's kind of blue. And under incandescent it's kind of white. Oh oh, a rainbow . . .:rolleyes:

I purchased a white iPad. It seems to go with the minimalistic/technology fades to the background theme that I have going for myself.

Also I have a black iPhone. Because I wouldn't be caught dead with a white iPhone in public because I'm a manly-man. Thanks Shrink for setting us men straight. I only hope my white iPad doesn't get my man card revoked :D

If the color of the products you use defines you, your man card has already been revoked
 
I quite like the idea of a white iPad but I don't like the shade? of white Apple uses. It always seems a little yellow/creamy to me, and not a really clean and crisp white.
It looks like something that was made a while ago and has gone off colour a tiny bit.
Is it just me?

Odd...my white iPad has been getting me the numbers of fairly good looking women ... and it aint for friendship if you know what i mean ;)

got my dad black for christmas cause my sister was getting a white one for christmas

turns out she actually got a black one tho

no worries, theyre both satisfied
 
I know it's not, but I can't get past the white looking toying, plus my favorite color is black.
 
I have the new iPad and chose the white model. I also have the white iPhone 4S. I think the white is much sleeker then the black. I'll always choose white from now on.

No, I feel the same way, though I expressed it as "it looks plasticky." I noticed one other poster saying the same thing, so we are not alone!
 
I'll say again now what I'd love to see in the future, and I'm sure someone will to it eventually, Apple could almost do it now. (but then I'm always ahead of what's being made now) :D

Make the screen on the iPad larger, and take it right out to the edge of the unit, as close as you can get it, let's say 1mm or 2mm border around the edge of the screen.

Then have a "soft border" so the screen can itself put up a boarder when needed so you have a black, or any colour boarder around the screen when you are holding it, or want the boarder there.
When you are watching a movie or just using it hands free, say on a table, on your bed or on your lap, the display can open out, getting rid of the boarder and go right to the edge of the unit.

Its the lighting of the room that can change the look of the bezel. The white iPad is as white as it looks on billboards and on the Apple site in certain lighting conditions.

I am aware of that. There is still something not quite right about it.
Most things that look white always look white.
The iPad does, for some reason look off-white quite often and, as I said, is not a look I like. I'm not sure why, perhaps it's the tone of the white, almost a little cream mixed in with it, or the glass over the top. there is just something about it.

^^^This. It's the same color as the 2005-6 white iMac's, no difference in the colors.

it's 100% white but the glass on it is very reflective.

Yeah but there are many whites, as crazy as it sounds!

Have you been to a car shop to look at bodywork touch up sprays.

Ice White
Diamond White
Polar White
Crystal White

etc etc etc.

So me, White is when you get a tin of Brilliant White paint for your walls at home and look at it after a couple of coats and it almost hurts your eyes, it's so white. :D
