I picked up an iPhone 6+ for many reasons:

1st - Exceptional Battery life - Charged my phone on Monday night, and it just died this morning at 930am. That was after clash of clans, an hour on youtube, fb, ig, safari and bunch of other nonsense. The battery is my favorite thing on this phone.

2nd- I was tired of having a small screen, when all my droid fanboy friends had large screens and I didnt, so figured go big or go home.

3rd - I had a iPhone 5 and never purchased the 5s. My wife purchased the 6 before I bought my +, and although the 6 is nice, it made me realize I definitely wanted the bigger phone.

Super happy with my purhase, I love everything about the phone. Just some minor software issues need to be fixed and then it will absolutely perfect.

:apple::cool:

My main concerns about not getting the 6+ are that I use my phone for running so I am not sure how it would feel in my pocket and I also carry my phone around mainly in my pocket during the day (no tight pants, just normal guy jeans).

I am already aware about all the bend-gate issues so I don't what this to turn into a discussion about that. I mainly want to know how practical the 6+ is for daily life and if its a reasonable device to use and hold because of its nicer display and better battery, which are things that I don't want to miss out on. Also feel free to comment on the software side of things, like lagging if you want.

So, why did you get an iPhone 6+ and are you happy with it now, almost one month later?
I ordered the plus because I wanted a completely different experience from the 5S and I hit the jackpot this thing is awesome

I wanted to try something new. I have always looked at android phones with a little envy at the screen size. I use my phone for a lot of media and browsing.

I'm only 24 hours into having the 6 Plus but I honestly love it. However for me, and I don't deny it will be possible. But running is out of the question for me with this phone. I'v purchased a Garmin Forerunner 620 I had been considering one anyway but when I ordered the big phone I decided to get one of those as well. It arrived a few weeks ago. Highly recommend that as well just a little FYI.

Great phone I couldn't be happier with my purchase. However whilst waiting for it to arrive I had cancelled one due to buyers regret and some of the negative reviews. However now it's here I love it.

I'm glad you figured out which device was better for you but from all the things you said..... it seems like maturity is the thing you lack most. why would you get "embarrassed" because it takes you 2 seconds longer to get a phone out of your pocket? Do you really think people are looking at you all the time? You felt silly because it's harder to take it out of your pocket while seated? And you keep referring to the phone's heft and how the 6 is so much lighter.......43 grams difference...... 43.

Uh, what?

For starters, I meant personally embarrassing. I usually am quick to snap videos and pictures and it was embarrassing that I had to be so slow and careful pulling out the device, and yes, extra seconds matter. Not to mention it's nearly impossible for me to quick draw the camera mode in the corner, let alone open my camera app. So it takes definitely more than "2 seconds" (nice job making up a number). I missed plenty of shots because of my duration pulling out the device. Additionally, it's far easier to drop the Plus when you pull it out of pocket, as well. You definitely have to be a little more careful in a way that I'm not interested in dealing with long term. Certainly this takes more than "2 seconds" sometimes.

And yeah, I felt sillier taking my phone out while seated because it offers more of a struggle that I feel (emphasis on "I", it is "my" phone), is unnecessary when I feel like it shouldn't be that way. Basically, I shouldn't have to deal with issues when it comes to getting out my device.

The 6 is much lighter. Seriously. It's clearly a difference in weight and you can notice it especially if you switched between the two like I did. The numbers don't do it justice but there is a significant weight difference that matters in a one-handed (allegedly) device.

You jumped to far too many conclusions based on my sentiments and you don't need to take it so seriously that I dislike the Plus more than the 6. I find a lot of the elements of one-handedness crucial in certain situations and I've experienced plenty of them.

Don't jump to conclusions. I'm happy you like your phone, but you don't need to claim that I lack maturity. If you ask me, you do, by being so asinine based on my countering opinion because I only shared my experience with the phone, not yours. I have spent weeks with both models and PERSONALLY decided that my points were worth bringing up in the thread. Just because I disagree with your notions doesn't make me immature or wrong.

I praised the Plus a bunch, but I feel like it has issues that need to be refined before it becomes a casual, worry-free phone. The extra inch of screen isn't worth the issues because the phone is far too long and becomes unwieldy for what *I* want of it. I noticed it after about a week of testing.

Hi Dave, I have a G3 and I've been considering the switch as well. I love the G3 but the battery can never last me through the day, it's a 6 hour battery at best unless you shut off all location services, etc to compromise. How have you found the 6 plus (I'm curious since you came from the G3)? I'm a former iPhone guy (up to the 4s) but went to android for the bigger screens. So I have nothing against iOS however I do think android is a bit more robust right now. The G3 is an awesome phone but the battery just doesn't cut it, as cool as all the bells and whistles are. Conflicted...

Hey whats up? I loved the G3 as well, but as you mentioned, the battery life just isn't there. Its funny because Apple's battery is 2915 mah (I think) while the G3 should be around 3000. Apple's OS is more efficient. The battery life on the iPhone 6 Plus is terrific, I can go through a whole day at work (texting every once in a while) and still get home with 80%. But thats me, I text and Instagram every hour or so.

I have nothing against the LG G3, the screen is beautiful. I had to give up the 2K screen for HD, but the thing is, not many pictures/videos are offered in 2K right now. The LG G3 screen is great, but its not really THAT GREAT. I think it has more hype behind it. It's like having a 4K Ultra HD TV with basic cable. There will be a time for it, just not right now. Another thing is, Phonearena.com says there are 0 cons on the LG G3. Really? 0? Not even 1? One major issue that they've failed to mention is the AUX jack causes major audio distortions in cars. Have you tried it yet? Plug your phone into a car's aux jack and skip songs. You'll hear two pops in the left speaker. I even tried using a Dre Beats cable (pretty expensive) and the pop sounds are still there.

All in all, I think Apple does a good job. Sure, everyone is saying Apple is "catching up" but how is it they sell out every year? They make a solid device every time. Android offers 150 features, but only 80 of them work. Have you tried some of the hand gestures? HA! You won't be disappointed with the iPhone 6 Plus, trust me.

I purchased the 6+ due to the screen size and optical stabilization. I've had the phone for about a week and put it in a Apple Leather Case. I've already tested the phone in my pocket while driving, out to dinner, etc. and there are no bends. Everything is good.

I personally am happy with my purchase. I'm used to the size already. Great phone.

I came from iP 5... iP 6's size is similar to 5 (only .7 in different)
So I decided to get iP 6+ instead.

So happy with my choice. :)

You aren't doing the math here right. But that's expected of MR members. You need to calculate the percentage that is bigger. That's like saying a 60 inch TV is only 5 inches bigger than a 55 inch TV, when in actuality there iis 20% more screen real estate.

Pretty sure that's a size-able increase. That being said, the 6+ is great.

What wallet case do you have.

So far I love the 6 plus, great size for me. The battery life has been great, the low light pictures are very impressive.

I found this on Amazon but I think they sold out of it. It was the same price as Khomo's site. It's working out well so far.

I just saw this one the other day:

I have the iPad version of that one - I thought it would neat to have a matching set. Ah well. I may order it anyway for when the Khomo one starts falling apart.

I actually upgraded to the 6 initially (from a 5) and I found myself getting used to the phone very quickly. The wow factor died about the same day that I purchased the 6. I read tons of articles, made dozens of cut-outs, and stayed reading whatever was said on here about the 6+.

I found myself being on the defensive end of trying to explain why I chose the 6 first even though a great majority of the people had it. I think I had the most popular combo too (6, space grey, 64 gig)
Everytime I would say "it's the better one to carry between the two....the 6+ is too big....that phone is basically a tablet and I have one of those...etc etc etc."

However, I noticed in a couple of trips to the apple store I would always pick up the 6+ and wonder if I could actually "live" with this phone, because man that screen is beautiful, it looks awesome and I like it. I would go home and watch youtube about user experiences...some claimed it was too big and others claimed it was perfect.

---still tried convincing myself that my 6 was a better choice for me...

Well one day i took my 6 in to see about getting a screen protector since I noticed a scratch on the screen. While talking to a rep, on a whim, I asked were there any 6+ in stock for at&t....she didn't know but another one did. They just so happened to have a 64g space grey 6+ for at&t that hadn't been there 5 min before I asked.....how about that.

I made the leap and got the 6+....and I have never been more happy. This phone is awesome...I def. made the right decision. I'm waiting for all the software advancements to come to its full potential can be unlocked...until then. I am happy with this phone as it is:cool:

Then, once this happened, I started to notice other difficulties I had with the device. I always take out my phone from pocket when I drive because I use my phone as my music player in my car. Getting my phone out of pocket while already sitting down was incredibly uncomfortable, and compared to how easy it was with the 5s, I had realized how important that portability is to me after all.

I saw nothing wrong with the Plus until it got to where I used Reachability a whole lot, which, I then realized, if I use Reachability this much, why do I need a massive phone? It just seemed like an unusual thing to do as frequently as I did because I consider Reachability something that should seldom be used.

Additionally, I started to carry my Plus around in my hand, which made me feel like I was carting around a paperback book in my hand at all times and it made me feel a little silly. Not that it wouldn't fit in my pocket, but I felt better about holding it because it was easier to pull out if I needed it in a pinch.

This is exactly what I am afraid of. I don't want to be uncomfortable while sitting with the phone in my pocket or having to take it out. And I don't want to lose the portability of a phone either.

Thanks for offering a different view point!

Why did you get an iPhone 6+ and are you happy with your purchase now?

I also started with a 6 Plus and switched to the iPhone 6. I loved the Plus because of the screen and battery life but felt I lost too much convenience with carrying it around and using the Plus and it felt heavy and difficult to use one handed. I just find I enjoy the 6 a lot more then I did the Plus. I wish the 6 was thicker with a bigger battery because I do miss the amazing battery life of the Plus. But the 6 gets me through the day on one charge still and that is all I ask for. The 6 is great too.

Yes... why should you be "personally embarrassed" pulling something out of your pocket? I'm not giving you crap because you didn't like the 6+.... Not giving you crap because you're happy with the phone you chose.... I'm simply bringing up the fact that you should't feel embarrassed about pulling a phone (or anything) out of your pocket..... who cares? Why do you think people are watching you pull anything out of your pocket? Sorry it just boggles my mind that it bothered you.

My wife is in the same boat as you... I got her the 6 even though she said she thought that was too big...... of course now she doesn't think she could go back to her i5s. I'm glad you're happy.

I got my 6+ for the battery, the camera features, and of course that big beautiful retina HD display. F'n love this phone.
I agree! I pick up the wife's six and think damn, that phone is small.... forget about any other model.

I already explained numerous times why I considered myself "embarrassed" in that fashion, and it more or less reflects the fact I have to be more delicate taking out the device, and it requires more effort and time to do actions that I consider essential for quick on-the-fly camera shots and other immediate responses. It's not what I consider a "portable device" at this point and thus I feel awkward about handling it in that way.

Seriously don't get why I'm being told I can't feel the way I do. I should no means have to compromise what I expect my phone able to do. I understand my view counters some of you guys', but I did what I needed to do to offer an alternative view that isn't relevant praise of the Plus as a flawless product.

Thank you, I do think both sides are worth looking at, considering you'll have this phone for at least a year or two. I used both phones for about two weeks nearly and these are the feelings on the two of them. I appreciate that you aren't telling me I *can't* feel a certain way or try to make me feel bad about not loving the Plus as much as I did two weeks ago.

The Plus is great, but you have to be more aware of the changes, it's not just "better battery, better camera, better screen". There's a lot more involved in the transition.

Ill never understand I guess.... I'm glad you're happy and I wish for you continued happiness.

I found previous iPhones too small (my last one was a 4S), and the iPad Mini too large to fit comfortably in an inside pocket. So for on-the-go use the new iPhone 6 Plus is a godsend for me -- ordered it from T-Mobile NL on Tuesday, will be delivered tomorrow on Friday. I can't wait...

So it seems the majority of people who opted for the IP6+ did so because they wanted a larger screen - makes sense since that's probably the only reason for such a move.

The longer battery life is a big plus as well.

Yeah the longer battery life is a huge factor. It might even be the deciding factor for many.

If they make a 6 with solid battery life I doubt so many would opt for the plus. Just my theory.

<What iPhaithful said>

I went through the same mind games deciding to upgrade from the 6 to the +.. Had a WTF moment initially due to it's size however within a couple of hours I got the feel for it. Been caseless for the previous four iPhones but with this piece I put on a light weight Incipio Feather (for traction only) as its as slippery as a fresh caught fish.

No worries about packing it, it just fits. It's a beauty, fast and smooth and I'm as happy as a clam. YMMV

I got it because it was bigger. It's exactly what I expected. It's awesome and I love the big screen.
