I am on my second 6+ since launch day and think I have finally decided to go with the 6. I love the 6+ and am getting used to this second one that I have had for about a week, but I am learning that the portability is really where it is at for me. I visited the Apple Store last night and played with the 6 and it just feels right. I am really going to miss the larger keyboard on the 6+ for texting though.

Wait till next year and see if they make any revisions to the Plus. Or even wait till the next iPhone released in 2016. I'm sure they will probably reduce the bezel. That's what turned me off by the 6 Plus. The huge bezel. I'll settle with the iPhone 6. The battery and size is perfect for me. Glad Apple gave us a choice this year between sizes. I hope people do buy the Plus size so that they can continue the production for future iPhone releases. Just reduce the bezel, Apple!!

You will miss the Plus, don't do it.

The screen size and battery cannot be replicated with the 6.

I know, I did this and lost money to go back to the Plus.

Yeah, I hear ya...I will certainly miss the screen size, the battery life, the bigger keyboard and I kind of like the iPad split screen landscape interface, but the portability of the 6 is just a little bit more important to me. It fits perfectly in my pocket and I don't know it is there, I can take it out of my pocket easily, I can use it one-handed easily, it feels better when I snap pictures in landscape. If I really need to see a video on a big beautiful screen, I will just throw it up to my Apple TV from the iPhone 6 or watch it on my computer. But there is no alternative for portability when you have a 6+. I will miss the 6+ though.....it is portability vs. a beautiful big screen for me, I want them both, but that is not possible...there is no perfect solution for me so I am taking the best one for my needs. But believe me, I'm torn.

For those complaining about portability , not able to use one handed etc.. Can I ask how tall/ big are you guys ?

I have a 128 gig silver 6 shipping as we speak. I went back and forth in my mind as to which one I wanted.. I had an iPad mini and it seemed the plus was not a whole lot smaller than that.. Then I got an iPad air 2 which obviously has a huge screen and I can do everything on that an iPhone does but make calls.. Also, I have small hands and I thought about the 1 handed thing. I have had every non-s iphone starting with the 3G (3G, 4, and 5) and each one grew in size. The 6 is larger than the 5, but still comfortable. Just think about the size of the 3G.. We managed with that. Lol. Anyway, I'm pretty sure I will be happy with my choice. But I will update later after I get it.. in transit now so should be soon!!!

5'11" here....on the 6+, I have issues reaching the Q key or the 123 with my thumb when using the phone one-handed...when I try, phone either becomes unstable in my hand or I hit the wrong key....would be nice if they had a reachability feature that caused the keyboard to move to the right a bit.

I actually really like my 6+ and love the battery more than anything else. I can live with the size because I have large hands and I enjoy the screen.

And the 6+ is actually still pretty portable. But the 6 is definitely more portable obviously. The 6+ fits in my jeans just fine. Never had any issues with it not fitting. And I get a lot of one handed use out of my 6+ but to be faster I have to use two hands.

In my case, I'm on AT&T next and would just rather save some money by moving to a 6 because I know I would be just as happy with a 6. But I'm out of the window period so I think I have to go through the entire process of paying it and then selling it and going to buy a 6.

I am 6.1 (if Google tells the truth) and I can barely reach the upper left on the iPhone 6 without adjusting the phone in my hand already. Plus would give me cramps for sure, my old nexus already made my fingers hurt

I don't think height has much to do with it. The only person I know outside of this forum who has a 6+ is plenty tall with regular sized hands and he hates his. He says it's great at home for watching video. Problem is, that's very little of his day because he has a life. It's not comfortable in the pockets of his pants (no, not skinny jeans), it falls out of the pockets of things like hoodies, it's too tall for dress shirt pockets, etc. He finds himself having to carry it in his hand most of the time, which is a nuisance.

His experience was a key factor for me in getting the 6 instead. I really wanted the OIS and thought I'd be OK with the portability issue. (I use the 5 two handed, so that's not an issue, and I'm female, so a purse is fine outside the house.) But comparing the pics here and from various reviews using OIS and without it, there's little to no difference--it's not as dramatic as having stabilization on a giant SLR lens, that's for sure. Handling the 6+ in the store made my hands hurt (even the 6 does to some extent, in spite of my long fingers.) It felt almost top heavy due to the height. And when I started paying attention to how I actually USE my phone on a daily basis, I realized I'd be in the same boat as my friend...having this nuisance that I resented having to carry everywhere in my hand because it didn't fit well in my pockets.

Everyone's use case is different, obviously, and the 6+ is going to be the best choice for some. But in the end it wasn't the best choice for me, and I'm glad I found that out before buying one. If I need a bigger screen, well, that's why I have an iPad, or a 17" laptop, or the giant TV in the living room. And if I need a good low light camera, I'll just have to haul along a real one, because the images I've seen from the 6+ just don't compare.

The plus is so big its silly. I do just fine with the 6 battery. It's better than my 5.

The problem with the 6+ is that it becomes awkward to manage unless you have two hands and that simply doesn't suit me for the times that I am using the phone. Also it's not comfortable to carry.

I went from 6 to 6 Plus, then back to 6. Here's why:

1) 6 Plus screen really is not noticeably better. It's just bigger. I have done very close side-by-side comparisons with a variety of photos. If you want more iPhone in your face or if you have bad eyes, then 6 Plus wins out.

2) It is ugly, really. It's just a really big iPhone blown up and to me that looks goofy.

3) I'm sick of it jabbing me in the gut when I sit with the phone in my front pocket or when walking up stairs.

4) I'm sick of always feeling it in my back pocket, again especially when bending down or walking up stairs or an incline.

5) It's just not portable for people on the go. Hard to run with (unless you take an extra fanny pack), work out with in your pocket, or just grab on the go with an umbrella or bag in one had, and the slippery iPhone in the other. Can you say AppleCare+.

6) Most apps are just bigger and over-sized. What's the point?

7) Heavy and clunky. Let's be honest here... it's a bit of a brick.

Apple needs to work hard on the next version. Yes, I know I will get bashed by the masses who justify the 6 Plus. I just don't see it at all.

Why did you switch from the 6 Plus to the 6?

It's all preference. I'm 6'1" and have no problems with using my 6+. It's a dream come true for me.

X2, couldn't be happier love my 6+. I had the 6, but after a while it felt small and didn't feel like an upgrade from my 5.

had the 6 for 2 weeks and was having second thought so got the 6+. i thought i will love this and tried to really love it but went back to 6 again. will see if i can hold on to the 6 for more than 2 weeks or will go back to the 6+ again.....tough choice really for me. never had a big smartphone. but the battery and the screen on the 6+ is just amazing. if only the 6 has them. wish it was an easy choice.

I did the opposite, got 6 plus, thought it was too big and the software didn't seem to 'fit' the bigger screen. So got a 6. Within a week I thought the 6 was not worth the money over the 5s, felt nothing new so went back to the 6 plus. I have now had it 2 weeks and the size is now insignificant and slowly the apps seem to be fitting the bigger size. I also no longer have an iPad as I sent the ipad2 back as honestly, found it far to thin! And the speaker vibration was awful. Also had a speaker pop every now and again.

Decision is simple....

Drive to work\college\Uni? 6+

Commute on public transport... safer bet is the 6.

When you want to whip the phone out to take a quick snap, 6 Plus is a nightmare.

The issue is the size of the screen. I could not live with 4.7 coming from larger android smartphones. Sure the 6 is more portable but my eye doctor driving a Ferrari has made enough money from folks squinting at small screen size iphones. :)

you could always use a battery case for more battery life .

I didn't know there were that many people that went from 6+ to 6...

There are, in the UK at least.

When I returned my 6+ for a 6, I asked the employee if they'd had many people doing the same. She said she'd seen a lot more 6+ returns than 6 returns, due to the size issue. She actually said she'd personally seen no 6 returns. I realise 'a lot more' is subjective, but it was interesting nonetheless. She was also 3 weeks into the job, and I'm not sure she was supposed to answer that question!

It's pretty obvious.

1. one handed use is limited at best
2. It's too big and doesn't fit well in pockets
3. Not comfortable
4. Apps aren't optimized yet
5. Symetric bezel size is stupid on this size screen and should be reduced.

I can see myself using 2 devices. One portable one larger. But I would rather have a smaller device now as it is more versatile and possibly add a larger device next year when the plus is more refined.

Plus has a great screen and battery but frankly if I can only have one device it's the more traditional iphone for now.

This, 100% this. I bought the 6+ thinking, 'great, I can ditch my tablet'. Not the case. I just ended up with a phone that's too big and a tablet that's too small. When the 6+ starts ringing in your pocket and you've got a bag thrown of your shoulder, you've got to react fast to carefully get it out without dropping it, and answer it with one hand holding it and the other swiping at it.

You're constantly working for the phone, not the other way around.

If you can afford a 6 and an iPad, I would suggest that's the route to go. If you can't afford both, then a 6+ may work as a valid compromise.

Battery life, screen and OIS were drawing me to the plus but it was always to cumbersome to use easily.

You make a good point. The 6+ battery life astounded me, and it's the one thing I miss on the 6.

Agree on the last sentence. Despite all the advantages of the 6+, I finally realized that size matters the most. I really don't see the point of the 6+. For example, the Note is bigger because it serves as a note taking device. the 6+ just has a bigger screen. I rather buy a tablet for watching movies and games.

I dunno, if you want one device to fit all... then the 6+ makes sense.

I have a 6 and an iPad Air, so got both ends covered.

I bought them both because the large plus display is my requirement, my girlfriend likes the regular size.

I have experience with spacious highly useful screens on other smartphones. It's a must have for my usage at work and personal.

I don't care what others think. I didn't buy it to be seen with, or to enhance my self esteem, I'm a serious smartphone user that requires a large display.

For others the very best phone is the one _they_like.
