Everything I have watched so far has been 2.35:1 which displays a bit bigger in non zoom mode on the X. And a lot bigger if you don’t mind the notch.

Why didn’t Apple just do a bezel-less plus size screen??

See, it all depends on the person. I don’t watch entire movies on the go. I don’t watch Netflix on the go either. But I do watch YouTube and other 16:9 content on my phone. For that, the + is nice. My first smartphone was a Note 2 in an Otterbox, so I’m used to carrying around a brick 😀
Apple will already have the Plus model ready to go for next year. In fact they had it ready to go last year.
So next year:
Surprise surprise an X Plus

That will be 2018's new features, the Plus model being the killer feature which will take up 50% of the keynote.
If you got a bunch of snails to educate themselves about smartphone technology, they would be in a position to build a smartphone which is more advanced than the iphone by 2040. That's how slow Apple moves.
Of course we can't send them a message in the loudest way possible, that is, don't buy their products until they lift their game, as there are millions around the world who would by a turd if it had the Apple logo on it, so Apple will keep things which should be on the device now up its sleeve for a few more years so it can keep making $$$$, and thus those who want Apple to go back to being the innovative company it once was, start looking at alternatives which actually do more and work as well.
Steve Jobs was a technology man, not a dollars man.
Tim Cook is a dollars man, not a technology man. He probably couldn't even screw in a lightbulb.
And that's why Apple has become slower than a snail and that's why X did not come in the Plus size this year.

It’s going to be priceless watching people instadump their X for the new fangled X+ and then have them come here to complain about the X+ being waaaay too big. And then we will have someone say that he or she was smart and picked the XS because it’s smaller and that person will instantly be attacked by other X+ users saying that the XS users only got that phone because they couldn’t afford the X+ and the X+ is clearly superior in every way. You know it will happen 😱🙄😀

The resounding idea seem to be that Apple may release a Plus-like model of the X next year. I don't plan on getting it, since I don't like larger cellphones. My wife may be interested in it though, we'll see how it goes.
