Ever since iOS 26, after I choose a photo for a contact's poster (not avatar, as those are now called), the photo is enlarged and looks nothing like how I aligned it on the screen. It's certainly not supposed to be this way, I hope?

How I place it on the screen (how I hope it will stay):

How it gets after I tap on "Done":

The whole contact photo / contact poster system has been horrid for a while, but this is an additional new, undesired behavior.

The first image will be the one that shows on your screen when Albert Einstein calls you.

The second image is just the Contacts app being smart so that the subject in the poster is visible in the top half and not covered up by the details.

I have some posters where the face is in the bottom half when they call, but the Contacts app is smart to show the face in the top half so I can see it when looking at their card. I also have some posters that don't really have a subject. They do not get enlarged or adjusted in the Contacts app.

Thank you. This is very helpful.
