Why do I have AI stored on my iPhone 17 Pro - AI was never enabled

Yes, I am pretty sure it started with iOS and iPadOS 26.5. iPad is dealing with this as well and not just the phone. You can get rid of it by maxing out your storage, it will drop off at some point. But eventually it starts up again and downloads when there is enough storage to start the fun. Rinse and repeat.
is this a bug or intentional? Maybe they are getting us used to having it regardless. iOS 27 doesn’t have an option to turn it off, yet. I really hope it is a bug. Eight gigs is a lot for anyone, especially those on lower tier storage. And if you keep your storage tight to begin with, you can quickly get an ‘out of storage’ warning just because of this out of control process running.
