Why do I have to give Apple my password for my Mac to use iCloud ?

This must be the most dangerous and stupid thing I have ever seen - my password isn't written down anywhere and Apple want me to give it to them just so I can use iMessages.

Is there any way around this and the annoying 2FA ?
 
You have two passwords, one for your Apple ID (iCloud, etc) and one for your Mac computer, should be totally different. I have no problem them asking ID password every time.
