im really surprised that there's no way to turn this off. its so annoying.

:confused::confused:

sooo.. has ANYBODY found a fix? I'm tired of being reminded that there is "Nothing to Undo" every time I send a text..

i think its funny when people are freaking out over this "issue" when they dont realize its the "shake to undo" feature. smart phones. dumb people.

Any update/fix for this? My iPhone 3GS does it all the time while texting as well as my friend's iPhone 4. I updated the firmware last Fall so it's relatively up to date. I do not see any kind of setting to turn this annoyance off.

To the people who state "just lock your phone before putting it down"...that's not practical...I'm texting back and forth with people and I'm not going to lock my phone everytime after pressing SEND.

There's a fix for this if you're jailbroken but I don't think there is if you're stock. I personally find the feature useless and at the very least Apple should provide a way to turn it off.

How about: not funny, people have parkinsons

Or should he retract his comment because your father specifically has it?

eek. sticky situation.

It is bad...but I have to admit, I did chuckle a bit. It made me remember the Family Guy episode. A flashback scene, when Peter said..."This is worse than that time they had MJF play Zorro". And on the wall there was a squiggle line instead of a nice clean Z...

People are FAR too sensitive about these things now.

agreed

A good idea, but poorly implemented. There seems to be a flaw in the shake algorithm.

undo comes up when the accelerometer detects shaking. usually done by shaking it pretty quickly. you should not get it just holding the phone

any time I put my phone down after texting, and then I turn it back on, its there. I'm setting it down normally on a desk usually, and this is while its in a case.

There is one movement I seem to do a lot, unintentionally, that triggers it 95% of the time.

Hold the phone in front of you as you would when reading the screen, now drop your hand (the one holding the phone :p ) down to your side (as if standing to attention), then look at the screen (while your hand is still by your side). Chances are it will say "Nothing To Undo".

I would define 'shake' as "a brisk oscillating/reciprocating motion repeated several times" so no way is the single motion of putting your hand down by your side, or putting the phone down on the desk "shaking". You should have to shake it pretty quickly, like Badandy said, to trigger it.

Look in iPod setting

It's the first thing you see. Go to Setting | iPod | Shake to Shuffle.

A "smart" phone shouldn't tell you there's nothing to undo when you put it in your pocket. And I shouldn't have to click it off to avoid the message either.

For all it's worth, it seems to be fixed in IOS5.

Besides, if there's nothing to undo just DON'T undo it! I don't have to be told there's nothing to do!
