Why do people keep upgrading iphone?

WTF? Why does anyone upgrade anything?
Cars / House / Partner lol.
I personally upgrade my phone because I like the latest tech, and it's from a brand I've bought from since the original iPhone. Unrivalled service & quality also help to keep me loyal.

There was 3G now there is 4G.
iPhone technology changes. New bells and whistles.
Phones get faster to accommodate the new technologies.
After awhile, the updated iOS versions become way too slow. Like iOS 7 is slow on the iPhone 4.
Why do people upgrade their OSs on their computers? Why do people get new computers? Same reasons.

This. Also, I upgrade to the Ses too, since its the only thing I spend money on is the iPhone, really.
Because it gets better and better with each iteration. And, I can afford it; especially since I always sell the previous one at the same cost of the subsidized price.
Technology changes. Each model tends to be roughly twice as fast in speed. As cell tech changes that is incorporated. (3G, LTE) New BT standards. Better and larger screens. Camera improvements. On top of many other things not the least of which is overall design changes of the phone itself.
Each generation brings new and improved technology. Is it worth it to upgrade every year? That's up to your wants and budget.

Same boat here. It's really the only tech I spend money on regularly. I am always going to have a phone so why not have the latest/best one out there? I use it for everything so it only makes sense to keep it up to par.
The reason I get every upgrade is because I can sell my previous iPhone for more than I pay for my upgrade.
Nah, for me it passed being a hobby a long time ago. It's now an addiction bordering on obsession.
I'm getting quite worried
Because it's easy to get $450 for a year old iPhone (unlocked) and for some of us it doesn't cost anything if we have an extra line on the old family plan.
I've has the 3G, 3GS, 4, 4s, 5 and now the 5s and plan on doing this every year. Why NOT?!!!. There is nothing you use more than your phone so it's worth it to me.
Because I work hard to earn my money and I choose to spend it on electronics that make me happy.
