I have beejive and apart from the disconnections my biggest gripe is its useability.

When you exit the iphones sms app from a chat page, the next time you go back in you are back in that SAME chat .

With beejive you exit from a chat but the next time you go back in you can go to the buddys page or the list of all the chats.

You never go back to the same chat.

Every time you open it, its 2 or three clicks trying to get back where you want.

No to me its unpolished and cluncky and it contrasts to apples own well designed and thought out interfaces.

I just shudder to think what that IM is like if people say beejive has the better ui !!!!

I could rant on about how difficult it is to add 'buddys' too..

    Beejive must do bettter.

I think you are completely insane. The UI is fantastic imo.

In my opinion, it used to be better before the latest "update". For me, is harder to use, the interface is ugly as heck, slower, and the scrolling takes a few to respond! When somebody talks to you, the whole app stops and after a few seconds you have it working again.. and after a few taps.. you get to see the whole conversation.

I wish i can do an downgrade, i don't care about the push anymore, because it sucks.

    For example:
If you have more then 1 conversation at the same thing, the push only shows the last message they send you!, what if im waiting for an specific person to respond? your not gonna have any clue if that person responded or not. The only solution you have is to stare at the screen!!

Maybe because Beejive is so freaking expensive, people think "it has to be good"... you know a marketing trick, that fools fall for?

I'd suggest you contact and tell them personally about what you dislike about their product so they could improve it on their future releases.

I don't think so. The app is actually pretty decent and it "used" to work great compare to the other apps out there. After the 3.0 and the new features, the app is not as good as it used to.

My biggest gripe is the send button... being so close to the delete button is just annoying. I can't believe how many incomplete messages i've sent because of that thing being in such a bad location.

Otherwise it just needs some spit shine.

Why not just hit "enter"? I love the BeeJive UI

I like the AIM app 100 times more. Even the free one which is advertisement supported.

I think the UI is pretty good but one thing I have trouble with is if I only want to send a smilie face and no text. It seems that you must type a letter first to see the chat input bubble. Perhaps I'm missing something.

I like it a lot. It's fast, efficient, and attractive. Has nothing to do with the cost - I bought it because there was no other good alternative and I quickly realized it blew away anything else on the market.

As I read this... I'm installing AIM and uninstalling BeeJive. Heck, I only use AIM and kind of just started using the FB chat.

See, that makes sense. I use AIM, GChat, MSN, and Facebook, so multi-client is a must. And IM+ looks like mouse droppings.

Beejive does IMO not have a nice UI. I hate the bubble that you write your messages in. Like someone else mentioned the send button is too close to the delete button. If only they had used the same keyboard layout as the native messages app.

There is no red thread in their design, some parts are massive grey, some are transparent black ect.

Yahoo messenger looks much better, unfortunatly I mostly use MSN and Facebook IM, and IM+ looks even worse than Beejive so I have to stick with it for now.

my biggest issue with is that it won't go back to the chat page-you have to click back into the correct one. Its just messy

I prefer it that way. I typically have several conversations open at once, and if I get a push notification I don't want to have to press an extra time to see who sent it.

And I love the chat bubble. It's a much nicer way to send messages - doesn't take up screen space when you don't need it.

I dont mind the Beejive UI but i do perfer the swipe jesture of IM+ to jump from different chats. Its faster and more seamless. In beejive there are 2 ways to change between chats it either takes tap the top and then select contact or double tap the center (half the time it just hides the keyboard) and then select from the list.

I don't know why everyone makes such a huge deal about the UI myself. I like it, but i like the usefulness of BeeJive far more than the UI itself. I like how it hides the buttons and options but makes them easy to find and get to. I don't like all buttons and options being on the screen at all times.
