Why do so many threads here say Apple is lacking in software?

I thought Mac OS and iPad OS is more stable than windows? I thought windows is way more buggy than Mac OS and iPad OS.

But what are people here looking for? Are people upset that there is lack of wow factor when comes to OS?

Are people here looking for new Mac OS X version 2? Are people upset the way Mac OS Tahoe looks and feel?

Which criticism specifically are you talking about? There's a lot going around, but it's also very mixed and diverse.

Some people criticize that iPadOS doesn't have multi-user support although the underlying operating system clearly does.

While macOS is usually more stable than Windows it still has bugs, and some of them have been known for years without being fixed.

Just two examples.

So why is software lacking innovation if you saying? Are you saying there needs to be other Unix or NEXT thing?

Have Mac OS got stagnated like Windows?

I think a lot of the flack MacOS gets stems from multiple bugs, some years old, that go ignored, while piling on new features and their own new bugs. One example is a pointer bug I have that constantly shows the wrong tool. It has been reported by users for years, as it has been present for several MacOS'.

Some of these new features and "bug fixes" break things that were working before the update.

I wonder if Steve Jobs would not allow some thing like this to happen? Or may be Apple needs other Unix or NEXT thing?

We're all macOS beta testers nowadays but we're doing a pretty poor job of it. Time to buck up our attitude and start filing more bugs as it's our own fault.
