Why do sport band colors add weight?

    Different materials most likely built to Apple's particular specs as opposed to the industry standard.

    It is legit. All the numbers were curated straight from apple.com which shows the weights for each band in 38mm and 42mm.

    Well, here's my theory. Maybe the lighter the color, the denser the material they chose so it wouldn't absorb dirt. The black one can be soft and light without picking up dirt. The white one needs to be harder, less porous, meaning it's denser.

    I don't know.

    Nice theory. If true, this is yet another example of how attentive they are. No other company would vary the density of the bands.
    I love finding out these little details.

    or maybe they just needed something fill the marketing gaps. e.g. they have four lines to fill
