How does an eight core processor with 8GB of RAM not have better benchmarks than a year old iPhone X? It makes no sense to me.

Let me say it again. GEEKBENCH only tests the CPU and nothing else. Everything else on the S9 or Note 9 runs faster than the X. That is why the Note 8, 9, S9 all beat the X on other benchmarks that actually test memory, cpu, ssd, and other things. They also beat the X in real life tests.

Here is my S9 plus vs my iPhone X 256gb. As you can see the S9 plus beats it. iPhone X is below it. As you can see the S9 plus beats overall. The X beat it on CPU and Memory only. I except the Note 9 to be better on the memory.

RAM speed and storage speed are other crucial factors. Last but not least, O/S optimization. Maybe Android has made great strides in OS optimization whereas iOS regressed 😛

I watched a few speed comparison videos between the Note 9 and the iPhone X and 8+. The Note 9 often loads apps faster but only just. When I say only just I mean 1 second or less which to people like us is unnoticeable in real world use. Even side by side they are all quick with the iPhone sometimes coming out ahead. If these speeds were 5 seconds or more I think this would qualify as a noticeable difference but geekbench scores and load tests just seem to be geeky willy waving points to argue about. In real world use most modern smartphones are at a standard where speed in use isn’t an issue.

I’m surprised it hasn’t worn thin by now as you’ve given many of us the impression you loathe iOS and have done for a couple of years now.

If you despair at iOS slowing down I doubt you’ll be much more impressed by Android as it’s always been worse in that regard. Plus updates are less frequent.

I was hanging out with my friends when I got an alert in my phone (around 30 minutes before the movie showtime) that I must leave now for for the movie because the highway was closed for maintenance ! I left at once and found that a portion of the highway was closed and had to find an another way.
Also my Moto don't need an internet connection for the Google Assistant to work. Siri is really dumb compared to Google Assitant when it comes to soccer/football clubs and F1.

BUT, I WILL NOT BUY AN ANDROID DEVICE because of Google's questionable privacy policies and the huge number of app shutdowns and unresponsiveness. Many apps are not "stable" in my phone and sometimes I have to force quit like in the Windows XP.

I mentioned an example in my earlier post. It was all "automatic". I did not set an entry in the Google calendar to remind me to watch the movie nor I asked the Assistant to check for any blockages in the highway. Do you think Siri can remind me without reminding Siri to remind me ? 😛

BTW, I did a test last month to see how good are they. I asked Siri in my iPad and Google Assitant in my Moto the same question, "When is Arsenal playing" (I'm an Arsenal FC fan, don't kill me lol 😛). It was the pre-season and Siri responded by listing Arsenal's premier league fixtures for August (first few matches of the the new season). But, Google Assistant listed the upcoming pre-season matches. Siri missed it completely. Google Assistant, after fetching the match details asked me if its ok to set a reminder for the match too !!

But I agree with the last part of your post. For Google, we are the product. Same with Facebook.

In my experience, if I purchase a movie ticket and put it in my wallet app, Siri will handle the rest and give me a heads up regarding traffic. This has happened to me many times.

Sure, but it's not as dramatic as you all make it to be. Siri has also been making a lot of improvements in the last year, I don't expect that to change. Still, pretty impressive that Apple can be where it is with Siri without massive data collection like Google. Take a look below, it's not that far off. I'll take Siri as is over Google any day.

Different tests, different results. Not unexpected. It all comes down to the individual, and as I said - works great for me. I use it for HomeKit and Music.

Haha, I have to say being someone who uses Siri at least 20 times a day on my iPhone and Apple Watch I do find it frustrating at times. It’s annoying the Amazon echo can understand me from another room and nearly always works first time yet Siri struggles to understand; ‘set a timer for 15 minutes’ lol.
