Had a few bad experiences with a couple of different "high end" Windows computers around 10 years ago and bought myself a Mac Mini. From then on, I was sold and upgraded that to a MacBook (old white one) then a MacBook Air before getting my 2011 iMac 21.5" which I used until very recently when I bought myself a 27" iMac to replace it.
The fact that none of those systems have caused me any issues, never crashed, never failed to boot for a random reason, doesn't constantly ask me to update drivers etc and just works all the time.
For my parents, I got them to change as MacOS is just so easier once you get the hang of it, and as mentioned above the programs installed just work. No error messages to make them panic and constantly phone me up to ask what x or y means that's popped up.
Build quality and feel of the products are also a big part of sticking with Apple, nothing ever tries to be too flashy, it's all understated and built to last. They're not the cheapest, but for great support in store or over the phone if you ever need it, good customer service from my personal experience anytime I've needed it, which of course, is why their products do cost more, is worth it IMO.
