Why does 3G all of a sudden stop working?

It's not my city, I live in a small South Carolina city and sometimes I'll try my 3GS really late at night and I have 5 Bars 3G but I just get the little animation that it's loading data but nothing ever comes up. I have jailbroken it and have the app 3G Unrestrictor, but 3G doesn't work anywhere, Edge works perfectly though. It's a problem that came up within the last 2 weeks, I've had my 3GS since launch. What do you think could be the problem? I have to restart my phone and then sometimes it will work.

Restore it. Set up as new. That might fix any conflicting settings.
