I don’t understand why azureus slows down the system so much. Everytime its running not only can I not open a web page but if I try to do something else it’ll just not respond, and after a minute everything rapidly correlates with what I pressed. Sometimes it will just freeze the whole computer. When I check istat it says that I’m using minimal amount of cpu and ram. This is the reason I bought the iMac and maxed out on ram and processor, for everything to run smoothly. And to have one little program slow it down, it just doesn’t let me sleep well at night. Is there anything I can do to make run better?

Yeah, use Transmission.
If I could get it to work again I would, but one day it just stopped working. It wouldn’t transfer at all. The network port says its stealth and cant fix it. I have Little Snitch set to allow any connection and osx’s own firewall to allow incoming connections. Don’t know what the problem is.

get bitTyrant.
its a modified version of azureus, but doesnt come with any of the useless add ons.
It slows down the machine because its a java based app, but if configured properly/ports opened, its supposed to be able to download 7x faster. In my own personal experience, (downloading legally, sharing files via torrents over home networks of course), i find this is the fastest torrent client available.
