I have now found three threads about the Apple store being down (which it still is) and all have been closed by edesignuk within just a few comments.

These are chat rooms! Let us chat and stop spoiling our fun!

So anyway, the store has been offline for HOURS! Anyone know when it might come back? It's now 15.15GMT and still nothing.

they were likely closed, because of the one thread everyone was using to chat in. there isn't a need for five, six or seven threads all discussing the same thing. further, i'm guessing the main thread was down, because the apple site was updated with new mac pros/xserves.

Because there were multiple threads on the same topic. In order to keep the chat focused, he referred everything to the main thread on that topic.

No-one here knows when the Apple Store will be back up, and edesignuk is not the only person that closes threads. ;)

I'm a forum nazi, this is a well known fact.

Threads were closed because they were about subjects already being discussed elsewhere, anything I closed I also linked to the appropriate thread to continue discussion.

As a further note, these are not chat rooms, and members using them purely as such will find themselves unable to post.
