why does Handbrake page out like crazy?

Running handbrake on a 2011 MBP with 16GB of RAM, I noticed that while running handbrake, my free ram keeps going down, and my inactive ram keeps going up and eventually, I still end up paging out even though I have like 13GB of inactive memory. What is going on here? No other programs are running at the time.
 
Apparently it's leaking memory. You can solve this for now with a little app called FreeMemory, it's available for free in the Mac App Store.
