I have a set of OG HomePods set as stereo pair in a living room setup. I have really enjoyed this solution taking advantage of the sound, the capabilities, the automation and everything else that comes with this simple setup. However, in the last few updates it just suffers with audio dropouts and glitches when it comes to the sound. The biggest problem currently on Apple TV 4K is with YouTube ad pauses, the sound either doesn't pickup right or the HomePod volume logo just pops on/off the screen with audio sync issues. I have also seen this behavior on YouTube TV.

This must be something related to the last few updates causing this issue? Any ideas apart from breaking the stereo pair apart and setting them back up?

Note: All updates/firmware on all devices are up to date including new home architecture on all devices.

Update to my own post. After never ungrouping my HomePods, I tried this and it seems to have recharged the whole system stereo pairing them from fresh. For now, things are back to normal. Maybe new architecture needed this possibly? No idea.

I always update my HomePods one at a time. Even with stereo pairs, I do each one separately. Sometimes the Apple software is just plain trash and nothing you can do about it.

It's very weird... almost like Apple doesn't have enough resources to fully test common scenarios.
