iPhone X Why does Instagram pause videos 10 seconds in and ask you “keep watching?”

This is so annoying, makes absolutely no sense. Obviously I want to watch the damn video.

I’ve read it is because the video is more than 1 minute and the rest of it is on the account's IGTV. Instagram asks you this question and if you reply that you want to keep watching it, you'd be redirected to IGTV to watch the rest. Annoying as fk. Like we’d pause scrolling to keep watching ‘because we didn’t want to keep watching’.
