6 has made my 3GS usable again (ios 5 brought it to its knees).

I'm kind of amazed at how well iOS 6 runs on a 3Gs. iOS 5 felt like molasses in winter.

Haven't had many issues with iOS 6 other than slowness in the stores and my shortcuts not being as reliable to trigger.

All in all it's been pretty stable and as more developer take advantage of features my life is getting easier.

I have only one real problem since upgrading to iOS 6 on my iP4 and that is that I lose data connectivity randomly. I can have the full bars on for whatever provider I am connected to but no data. Switching data on/off or toggling Airplane mode in the prefs doesn't help. This is only cured by switching the phone off and on again, which is annoying. Never happened before on any updated prior to 6 and 6.01 didn't fix anything.

As I am with Tmobile in the UK and can roam on Orange, there are very few places near me where I cannot pick up a 3G signal. A new carrier settings update yesterday didn't fix anything either.

Both my 3GS running great on 6.0.1, although slow at times. Can't wait for 6.1.

i don't know.... somehow my wifi seems fked up on my iphone 5. sometimes its slow, sometimes it cant find the wifi connection. really strange! never had any trouble with my 4s

6.0.1 is supposed to fix the iPhone 5 wifi problem. But if it isn't, I think 6.1 will address it again.

...not to mention you'll lose the vast majority of app data, game saves, files, various preferences, and most everything else on your phone.

It amazes me both how quick people are to recommend a factory restore as though it's not a big deal and how many people blindly accept it as a way of life with the iPhone.

I actually completely agree with you.

The last good iOS was 5.0.1

Since then they altered the touch sensitivity slightly... sucks

iOS 6.0.1 works perfectly on my iPhone 5 but on my iPod touch 4th gen the store is very glitch and force closes, but i havnt used my ipod since i got my iPhone 5.

I too have wondered this.

I don't know about everyone else but I don't think I could manage to abandon everything I've established since iOS 2.0 at the drop of a dime!

Google it if your so interested mate  why people always jumpt to ask for "source".

Just googled it. Couldn't find anything. Most likely because it's BS and is the reason I didn't bother to google it the first place.

Oh didnt know the official apple forum was random

I hope you are kidding when you say this.

So because some random person made a post on the official Apple forum it has more validity than if it was posted on Mac rumors?

It is when it is a random user posting it. It is just someone's opinion not really a source is it.

I am very happy with iOS 6. Post that as a source if you like :p

- OS inexplicably goes 90 percent grey, won't recover until hard reboot

- Phone app locks on previous call, may recover with hard reboot or waiting several minutes

- Randomly booted out of up-to-date apps

- Digital artifacts in folders (this one is REALLY strange)

It can't be just me; several others I know are still having issues.

What phone do you have?

iOS6 works flawlessly for me on my iPhone 5.

The only issues I've had was with wifi going out on occasion. Nothing major at all though. I haven't upgraded to 6.01 yet either.
